Teflon peeling off inside pan and going into the food

I have a slow cooker that is made by Nesco. It is probably about 4-5 years old. The teflon coating is peeling off the inside pan and going into the food. I have heard that teflon is dangerous to ingest. What do you suggest?

Teflon peeling off- not comfortable using it

Just like the other entry, my 5 year old Nesco 6 Qt. liner is also losing it's teflon lining. In addition to the liner, which was supposedly guaranteed for a lifetime according to QVC information, the stainless steel baking rack rusted and also needs replaced. I have searched unsuccessfully for the manufacturer, but to no avail. I would contact them in a heart beat.

Teflon is very dangerous. I discovered this when I got birds. Teflon is so deadly that if it is even slightly heated (by having a pan in the drawer below the stove) by having the oven on, it kills birds - immediately. It becomes airbourne and is that toxic. I know of so many examples of bird's dying from it. Can you imagine how tramatic it would be to be cooking and your bird drops dead. I had to get rid of all my pans because of them. And I'm glad for it. So it would be, not deadly, but not great to ingest for humans. Teflon is also in some heaters so its good to check that too.

Missing electrical cord

You can find replacement cords for many counter top appliances at most appliance and building supply stores. Try Ace, Home Depot, Lowes. Take the cooker with you to make sure you are getting the correct cord.

Hi I purchased a Nesco food dehydrator at a yard sale and need a manual for it . Model fd60, can I print one off the internet for this model?

I would think that any dehydrator information would work for you.
You just have to be sure the components are working (ie. fan and heating coil.) A dehydrator is pretty basic.
http://www.food-dehydrator.com/food-dehydrator/books.aspx here is a link for books on a site that sells the product.
You can find a lot of books at the library too.
This might also help, dont let the name fool you: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Dehydrator%20general%20instructions
With some searching on line you will be able to find a lot of instructions and probably even ones for your specific dehydrator.
Look on forms about drying foods and ask for the basic instructions if you find you really need them after looking at the links above.
There might be someone willing to scan them and email them to you.

The teflon coating in the cooking pan is coming off

Hello,
Well if you just purchase it. I would try returning it , and explaining your defect to the customer service agent. Or contact the company who makes the product.
