SOURCE: carrier multi hi wall split a/c

I don't have a diagram, but maybe I can help you. You have 2 compressors, o.k. 2 stage system. A single phase contactor? do you mean a single pole, one side breaks, the other is always hot? Speaking of phases, is this a commercial unit with 3 phase? Also, Each compressor needs a separate contactor to carry the load. What is the question?

SOURCE: air condition not cooling

If this is a heat pump it sounds like the reversing valve is stuck in the heat mode, replacing it requires opening the sealed system, which needs to be done by a licensed ac repairman.

SOURCE: 24ABR348A0031010 compressor starts then stops.

Hello RR Hard start can't hurt BUT dosen't sound like the problem.Do you have a scroll compressor? They don't need a kit.Does it start every time?It could be short cycling on LOW PRESSURE SWITCH.If the unit is (pumping down) during the run time you have a restriction in the system.Make sure the service valves are open ,do you have a filter dryer colgging up or a bad TXV valve also could cause short run times.20-30 PSI the switch cuts out.

How to tell if the compressor on your ac unit is running

If you have a split unit, it is fairly simple, just feel the small refrigerant line coming out of the unit. The temperature should be warmer than the surrounding air. If is not running the temperature will be the same as the surrounding air. If you have a package unit, take off the access cover to where the compressor is located. Find the compressor discharge piping to the the condensing coil. It is the smaller of the two major pipes on the side of the compressor. Be careful the temperature of line coming out of a properly operating compressor will be hot enough to cause second degree burns. If the line is very warm to very hot the compressor is running. If you have a set of gauges, attach the RED hose to the high pressure service connection and the other low pressure hose BLUE to the bigger pipe low pressure connection. Make sure the gauges are isolated by shutting the valves. The pressure difference between high and low pressure is normally at least 150 psig diference.

Senville mini split displays a "defrost" symbol????

It's a heat pump and that is how they work. But it shouldn't be cycling so much unless you live in Minnesota? The colder it is outside the more chance that the outside coil will freeze so it will go into defrost. It may be low on charge or have leak as well. Call a tech to verify.

Gree 18000 Btu Air Conditioner , f2 appears on display

F2 is an indoor pipe sensor fault. You will need an air con tech or electrician to do this as the sensor is wired into the indoor board. Gree parts can be a bit difficult to obtain but a similar sized pipe sensor from an LG or Teco unit will work. You may have to "splice" the new sensor onto the existing pipe sensor wiring as the connection to the indoor board will likely be different. Contact LG or Teco for your colsest parts outlet or buy direct from them.

My 9000 Btu Kenwood Continental Series split unit shuts down compressor after every 10-15 minuits regardles of room temp. Gas pressure is OK & I have tried replacenig cooling sensor but to no use. I am...

Sounds like the compressor may be overheating. You need to check the outdoor condenser coil it may be stopped up with dirt, in turn, overheating the compressor. The condenser coil looks like a radiator and the outdoor fan blows through it, in a sense releasing the hot air from the building. If the coil is stopped up, it can not release the heat. You can wash this coil out with a hose and sprayer. Just be careful not to get the motor wet and be sure to shut off power.

Installed 18000 btu split system heat pump and condensing unit is freezing up in cold weather 15 degrees out side air.

Actuall, out door fan sucks fresh air to cool the condensor when it's on "Cool" mode. If it is in " Heat mode' if the fan should run only on pressure build up. May be pressure switch is faulty.
Melt the ice with Torch gun, and check again.
