When I put the battery in the charger the light simply flashes red and does not charge. It should be a solid red light and turn green when fully charged. Is there something I can do to fix this.
I called, but I've had my camera for a couple of years, so no free battery for me. but still, I'd much rather replace my battery than my camera... i was getting a little freaked out.
Just had the same problem with the battery with my casio and they replaced the bad battery in one minute with excellent service.
I have to agree with the previous commenters who called the support line- I was off the phone in less than 5 minutes with a new battery shipped free of charge. 1-800-435-7732
Congrats casio- I'm buying my next one from you too.
I just called the phone number from the previous poster and was treated to a courteous CSR who immediately explained that they were having a problem with their lithium batteries and that they would immediately send a replacement. Very positive experience and very responsible service from Casio.
I had the same problem, so I called the Casio customer service line at: 800-435-7732. A real person answered the phone on the 3rd ring (amazing). She said that it's a common problem, and they're sending me one free of charge tomorrow.
Sucks to have a problem, but I have to admit that the Casio customer service couldn't be better on this one.
Same issue... 6 months camera... no so much use.. now battery is dead.. red led flashing in charge... I have bought a commercial battery for 9 euros (shipment included) IT works fine...
Casio at the Phone told me there is an issue with some batteries.. I can send old one back and they will send me a new one.. but shipment is my charge...
OK -read enough to realize this Casio Exillim770- as cool as it is- ...sucks on battery AND charger issues. Have had mine for 6 months an all of a sudden getting the flashing red light on the charger and no charge. Bought one on ebay (charger and battery $18) to replace - I'll post if this helps. If so, Casio's package deal stinks if only lasting 6 months.- at price of $275+.
Only a new battery I venture what type of battery is it?
That's simple then replace it with a new one.
That will prove the battery/charge problem
insofar if the charger does the same to the new you have a charger problem.
then get a new charger.
It is no bad thing to have two or more batteries.
When my camera used rechargeable AA size I had no less then six sets -with 3 sets in the bag.
Now I have Li-On camera I have three batteries
with two[in a grip holder] on the camera and one in the bag
And they get charged at the end of the day.
Never be without a battery.

rechargable lithium ion battery NP-20
when I put the battery in the charger it showed a green light which indicates a charged battery even though I do not believe the battery is charged. Could the problem be the charger?
