These wires are the ones that come from the front panel, I am guessing. (They don't provide power to the HDD, they are the ones that connect your power sitch, power led, and HDD activity led to the motherboard.) In my experience, the pins are usually located in one of the corners of the motherboard. Please reply if this is correct, and I can help you a little more.

First of all these wires don't supply power to HDD. These wires are for indicator LEDs on the front
panel of the cabinet. One wire `power sw' is to switch on the system from the power button on front panel. `power led' wire is of the power led on the front panel. All these wires will be connected to the cluster of pins on one corner of the mother board. If you can see it will be indicated & printed near the cluster of pins on the mbd, that which pair of pins is meant for what connector. Try to correlate the names on connector with the print on the mbd.

Will this isp 120s power supply work with a newer mother board which has the quad connection that looks like an 88 does it need (or does not need) to be plugged in?

Hello Eddie, Hi, the modern motherboard definitely needs the 88 or 12 volt quad connector, if the power supply is missing that connector, it will not work, except for the INTEL 510MO board which do not need the connector, so check this out. http://www.logicsupply.com/products/d510mo. If you want to use this power supply on other boards, ask a local computer shop if they have a bad power supply or if you have one to salvage the quad connector and solder it on the PS unit. The connector should be soldered on the 12 volt yellow wire group and the black wires goes to the black wires group. Ive done this and it works.0

Bought new power supply, no difference power button will not even go on or light up ; however small green light on mother board lights up. als accidentaly disconnected the switches wiring to the mother...

The green light just show that the motherboard is getting power.
The power button of the front of the case is connected to the mother board, not to the power supply, usually in the extreme lower left corner along with the with the HDD and Reset Button cords; Power button wire are labeled and usually red/black.
If all wired correctly, possible bad or stuck power button or reset button.
Hope this helps.

D845epi mobo has flashing green light after power supply replacement

Unplug the power then unplug the 24 pin power connection from the mother board and take paper clip bend it so you can insert it into the holes where the green and the black wire are next to each other, Next you will need a multi meter. Set the multi meter to read dc volts 20 take the red lead and put it into the purple wire hole of the 24 pin connection and the black lead in to the hole with the Black wire on the 24 pin connection. the reading on the Multi meter should read 5.0 volts if it does not and you get a reading of 6.01 or higher then the Mother board has been burnt out and you will need to replace the motherboard and power supply I have been a onsite tech for E-machine for the last 5 years and this has been an ongoing problem with the power supply.

Emachines t3882 wont power on

The yellow wire carry 12 volt while the red one is 5 volt. But to check the voltage you have to unplugged all the four wires connectors (yelow, black, black red) and measure them one by one. If you say that they don't have any voltage on them then you have a faulty power supply. Replace it to solve the problem.
But if during unplugged your have the correct voltage read then it could be one of your device faulty. Normally your CD-ROM drive or floppy drive or HDD.

Wiring a P4M80-M4 mother board

You can download the manual for the motherboard here, just click on the "manual" link:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/driver.php?S_ID=246

This will list the front panel connections, which are 2 pins. Each of the jumpers, what you are calling clips, will connect two of the pins. Most cases have the jumpers labeled, i.e. power, reset, etc. But if they are not, it is usually: red/white = HDD led; green/white = power led; red/black = speaker; black/green = power switch; and black/white = reset. But your case may use a different wiring spec, but should list somewhere which wire is for which function.
