Call Xfinity to get another Digital HD DVR mine is a RGN200N it has a programmable remote you can program 3 devices using the codes provided in the guide. Does the box that remote controls offer HD? Or just digital TV?

Your Sony set is not locked. It has some other fault. If the standbylight blinks, cound the number of blinks at one time. It is fault indications. For more details, type in the site name "Electro-help" to your search engines' search box [not in the address bar of your browser], and click search. It is an electronic equipments service help site. Your issue is very common. Unfortunately these two items are not compatable. You will have to use the two remotes as many, many folks do.

Remote sensor on the tv may not be working. Try using a camera by aiming the remote IR sensor of the remote control at the camera lens then press and hole any button and check if you see a flicker of light. If you do, the remote control is transmitting, if not, the remote control is not working. This will tell you if the remote sensor on the tv is not getting the signal from the remote control
