Wii will not connect to netflix

This sounds like a problem either with your internet/network connection or Netflix. i would recommend a few steps to isolate where the problem is:
Step 1. Use another device, e.g. tablet, pc or laptop on the same network as your Blueray device/WII and see if you can connect to Netflix.
** If you cannot connect to Netflix, go to step 2.
** If you can connect, Netflix is fine, the issue is with the connection between your router/modem and the Bluray/WII console. Go to step 2.

Step 2. Take your laptop/ tablet and connect to another network, a friends or neighbors, or a hotspot from your phone. Then try to connect to Netflix.
** If you are able to connect and watch Netflix, the issue is with your network. Go to step 3
If you are unable to connect to Netflix, you may have a problem with your account. Contact Netflix support, who are normally very good at trouble shooting the problem.

Step 3.
** On the Bluray and Wii, disconnect from the network and forget this network.
** Next power off your modem and router, wait 10 minutes and power them back up again, modem first, then the router.
** Once all the right light are steady on both the modem and router, try to connect either the Bluray or Wii to the network and see if you can get Netflix to work. If yes, you are in luck! If no, you may need help from an internet professional or the 1-800 support line of your router manufacturer.

Start by troubleshooting whether your second tv has an appropriate internet connection. I have found that with multiple devices connecting to the same NETFLIX account, often has intermittent connectivity problems attributed to the device connection to the internet.

How to get Netflix to work on a Wii
1.) turn on your wii
2.) press "A" (or any button to get to the wii menu)
3.) on the Wii menu, go to the bottom-left of the screen
4.) click "A" on the word "Wii" (when you highlight it, it should say "Wii Options")
5.) then click on "Wii Settings"
6.) on the contoller, hit the "+" button then click on "internet"
7.) then click on "connection settings"
8.) click on any connection setting (i just use the the one that says "connection 1")
9.) if you want to connect through a wireless connection, click on wireless connection (this will search for WiFi around you.)
10.) then go to "search for an Access Point"
it should find some access points, if it doesn't, then you'll need to buy a Nintendo WiFi thing (i'm sorry, i forgot the correct name for it)
11.) click "OK"
12.) click on an access point with a lock that's unlocked, or click on one with a yellow lock and put a password. if you see a red lock, you cannot connect to that access point.
13.) it will ask you if you want to save the settings. click "OK"
14.) then click "OK" again, to do a connection test (this could take about 30 seconds)
15.) UPDATE THE WII
16.) after that go back to the Wii menu by clicking "Back" until you reach the Wii menu
17.) then click on the wii shop channel.
18.) then click on start shopping
19.) then click on channels
20.) then click on netflix
21.) wait for it to download
22.) then go back to the wii menu
23.) then load up the netflix channel
24.) they're going to give you a password, go on a computer and (if you have a netflix account) go to www.netflix.com/activate or http://www.netflix.com/NRD/Wii?mkwid=s0BEmMX1Q&mqso=80025460
25.) then loggin and type in the code from the wii into your accound
...Now you can watch Tv or movies on your Nintendo Wii

Connecting to wireless network

1.Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.
2.Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.
3.Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."
4.Select "Connection 1: None"
5.Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."
6.Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.
7.Select the wireless network that is yours.
8.Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

Download Netlix
1.Select the Wii Shop Channel on the Wii Menu.
2.A screen will appear asking you if you want to link a Club Nintendo account to your Wii Shop account. 3.If you have a Club Nintendo Membership, enter your User Name and Password, then select "Link" on the right. 4.If you do not have a Club Nintendo Membership, leave the fields blank and select "Do not link" on the left.

5.Select "Wii Channels" from the Wii Shop Channel main menu, then select "Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii." Select "Free 0 Wii Points" to begin the download.
6.Once Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii has finished downloading, it will be added to your Wii menu.
After Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii has been added, the next thing you'll need to do is connect your Wii console with your Netflix account.

Connect your Wii console to your Netflix account

1. On your Wii
   If you're not already on this screen on your television, select Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii from the Wii menu. (Don't have this option?) On this screen you will be presented with a code; remain on this screen during the activation process.
   
2. On your home computer

(The screen on your computer will not change. Wait for the screen displayed by the Wii on your TV to indicate the activation has finished before going to another Web page.)
   
5. And finally, watch TV episodes and movies streaming from Netflix on your Wii console by selecting the Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii on the Wii main menu.
   

In order to use Netflix on a game console the first thing you must ensure is that your device is compatible. The three main compatible consoles are the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii.

If you have one of these systems, follow the instructions for the system below:

PS3:
1) Make sure your console is connected to the internet.

2) Log on to Playstation Network and download the Netflix app.

3) Install the app, then run it.
(NOTE: Playstation Network is currently down for maintenance. More than likely Netflix will not work until it is back up)

Wii:
1) Make sure you have a wireless network set up in your home.

2) Follow the Wii's onscreen instructions to connect to your network.

3) Go to to the "Wii Shop" channel on your Wii and download and install the Netflix app.

4) Run the app and follow the instructions.

Xbox:
1)Make sure your Xbox is connected to the internet

2) Log into Xbox Live with a Gold account.

3) Download and install the Netflix App from the "downloads" section.

4) Run the Netflix app and follow the instructions.

There are a few things that could be preventing this from working. First, if I recall correctly Wii still requires the special Netflix disk to play any movies, so make sure you have that and it's in the console. If you don't have it, log onto Netflix from your computer and you can easily have it sent to you. It's free, so no worries there.

Now if you have the disk, and you still can't get Netflix to work, make sure that your Wii is registered on Netflix. Again, this can be done from the Netflix website. To check what you have registered to your account just;

Log on to Netflix.
Click "Your account and Help" at the top right of your browser.
Scroll down to "WATCHING INSTANTLY ON YOUR TV OR COMPUTER"
Click on "Manage Netflix ready devices and computer"

Now you'll see a list of devices that are registered to your Netflix account. Make sure your Wii is on there, and if not, then you'll have to re-register your Wii in order for it to work.

If none of this works, then double check your internet connection and be sure your Wii is properly connecting to the internet.

have you downloaded any new software/games/audio/video in the last two weeks on the main pc w/router (that might be conflicting)..if so I would delete it....do not change wii or other computers connection settings....but on the main computer lets do this

1.go to start
2.all programs
3.accessories
4.system tools
5.system restore
6.we are going restore 1 full month...this means pick restore to earlier date....30 days back.......when it was working all fine.....click okay..once say ok again it will reboot by itself come on and will prompt you one more time click ok
