Try running a printer-cleaning session from the printer properties. This can sometimes freshen up the print heads.

For Flexer and Guest - The Imaging Drum Assy is the 5-th consumable for your printer. U can buy it as well as any toner cartridge. U can find it in the front of the 4 toner carousel with a green plastic cover. Push it to the back of the printer and pull it out straight up. The new one has orange stripes and plastics that you should remove. The Imaging Drum's life is about 20k pages (black with 5% coverage) and 5k page (colour 15% coverage)

SOURCE: not printing on left side of page

The problem is that the revolving drum doesn't contact the OPC drum proberly. You have to open the left side off the machine and replace the little white gear on the shaft that drive revolving drum. The gear has "jumped"one step and the revolving drum isn't parallell to the OPC drum. I fixed my 2840 last night it takes some time but now it works perfect.

SOURCE: HP Color LaserJet 2840 keeps showing 50.2 Fuser

The fuser is the heating unit near the paper exit, and that error means the lamp is burned out, the overtemp sensor is out, or the thermistor in the fuser is bad. About all you can do is replace the fuser. www.precisionroller.com will have a new fuser for you.

SOURCE: hp color laserjet 1600 copies have a blurred image

This sounds like a registration problem.

Use the menu (on the printer) to print antest page AND a configuration/information page.

Look (critically) at the alignment of the seperate coloure Yellow Magenta Cyan. You will probably find that these are out of aligmnent across the page.

The cause of this, is that the printer can't perform a calibration properly (printer probably takes a long time when calibrating too) and is usually down to failure of one of the sensors on the transfer belt.

Sometimes you can clean these and solve the problem, but often is a failure of the component itself. Thes are NOT available as a spare part, and the repair to correct this would need a replacement transfer belt.

Transfer belt replacement in this printer is quite an involved task, though it is within the capabilities of someone with reasonable mechanical aptitude.

Why does every other line of print have the top half of the print cut off?

The print head prints two lines of text/image at one time. If there is a partial print of alternating lines, you probably have a partially clogged print head. Print a test page to see what you get, and perform head cleaning process if needed.

Ghostly effect

If drum is a genuine Brother, then open the rear door and look at the fuser rollers, if you see toner or partial images on the rollers you need a new fuser, if the fuser is clean, look at the drum surface and if you see parts of last print then the drum is bad. In reports, print the user options list it will give the total print count. The fuser is worn out around 80 to 100,000 prints.

Only printing partially

first of all it require servicing like cleaning of steel rod inside in the printer on which print heads move ,that you can do with lubricant oil and second thing you need to change the cartridges they may be dry if you can do this entire thing well otherwise I advised you to show it service center.

DOES NOT PRINT IN BLACK

This may sound a bit dumb, but believe me as a tech support specialist, I have seen it happen. If you are trying to print a document, what color do you have set for text? I had a lady who wanted the text to be white on blue on the screen in Word and instead of setting it with a blue background and "auto" text, she set the text as white. White print on a white background (paper) doesn't show up...:-)

Printer malfunction

2 possible soultions,

1. The color required to print the text ( ie: black or a variation of ) may have run out and needs to be refilled or replaced.

2. The other way that could help, is to select only the text you wish to print, by highlighting the entire text of the email, and then press and hold Ctrl while you press P to bring up printing shortcut menu and then check the "Print selected only" before attempting to print.

This should give you only the selected text, but if your black or the color required to print is empty, it may appear blank on the page, or show a low ink error.
