Screen option greyed out on 42lc7d

My screen button is greyed out on the lg 42"lcd ... i hope someone else has had the problem and knows a solution.

    hi, i tried it in componet 1 and 2 and avi 1 and 2 and it's still greyed out. i'm going to try hooking my computer up and see if it works.

    hi, the button comes up on my computer, so maybe it's only available on the computer input and the hdmi inputs.

    Which "screen" button are you talking about (on the set itself, menu, etc)?

Is it this way no matter what input you are on? Try switching to each input and then going into the menu to see if it is still greyed out each time? If it stays greyed out, then you have a bad main board.

try to turn off SUB on ur remote control........this should turn the sub off from ur screen

42lc7d,screen was hit with ball,cracks in screen when power on need replacement screen but dont know where to look
ebay is your best bet. Try and find a nonworking set with a good panel. A new replacement panel will cost as much as a new set.

Model: LG 42LC7D Closed caption/text option is "greyed" out and I am unable to use this option. How do I fix this?
If your using the RGB inputs or A/V inputs I do believe that feature is disabled. You have to use the closed caption capabilities with the cable box or satellite from with-in them, which ever you may have. The CC is only active in the menu when cable is directly connected to the RF jack for input on the TV, which can be the cable box also. Hope this helped.

Black box appears in middle of screen
go into the menu and look at the closed caption option----if TEXT is highlighted--this is your problem---select CC! or if it has it OFF.The TEXT will only appear on certain channels and it most likely was activated by someone changing the closed caption options. If this has been helpful give me a vote to let me know.

Did you have any luck? My LG is stuck in demo mode too. Menu button doesn't work, and keylock was on as default so I can't use the buttons on the TV itself.

Channel box appears on screen with "Mono" flashing. When this appears on screen remote will not operate tv. Also, if TV is turned off will automatically come back on in about 5 to 10 minutes
I have a similar problem with my LG LCD TV Model 42LC7D. Manufacturer has service bulletin on my problem, may have service bulletin for your problem also.
