Virtual memory iam facing some problem with my system it is displaying some message in between WINDOWS -VIRTUAL MEMORY MINIMUM TOO LOW your system is too low ................ please can any one give solution at [email protected]

Right-click 'My Computer' and select properties.
Click 'Advanced' tab.


Click Settings button.


Click 'Advanced' tab. Click 'Change' button.


Select 'System managed size' and click 'Set' button.
Click 'OK' buttons to close all dialog windows.
This will correct your problem.

There are two pretty simple solutions.
1. Close all other open programs before you try to play your game. You don't have enough virtual memory (RAM) to run multiple programs at once.
2. If you receive the same message when only running your game, then you just don't have enough RAM to handle the game. You need to upgrade your ram - verify which type you need and go buy it! It's very easy to install, especially in desktops.
To avoid this in the future, be sure to read the necessary system specs needed to run the game, and be sure you meet or exceed the minimum requirements before purchasing the game.

Virtual Memory is used by the operating system as an extension to the Random Access Memory (RAM). When the RAM does not have enough space to accommodate the entire running program, the inactive parts of that program are temporarily shifted to the Virtual Memory. These parts are then swapped back into the RAM as and when needed. If the Virtual Memory set on your system is not enough for the computer operations to run smoothly, then you will get the "Virtual Memory Is Too Low" error message.If operating system is xp then this problem can be easily overcome by increasing the Virtual Memory size.This is how you can do it by following instrutions:

1. Click on "Start" and then click on "Control Panel.
   
2. Double-click on the "System" icon in the Control Panel.
   
3. Click on the "Advanced" tab in the System Properties dialog box.
   
4. Click on the "Settings" button below Performance.
   
5. Click on the "Advanced" tab in the Performance Options dialog box.
   
6. Click on the "Change" button below Virtual memory.
   
7. Click on a drive_letter below "Drive [Volume Label]" in the Virtual Memory dialog box.
   
8. Click on the "Custom size" option.
   
9. Click in the "Initial size (MB)" text box and type a larger value (for example, 600).
   
10. Click in the "Maximum size (MB)" text box, and type a larger value (for example, 1500).
    
11. Click on the "Set" button. Similarly change the Virtual Memory on other drives.
    
12. Click on "OK" and then restart your computer.

If too many applications are running in the background memory is reduced. Verify that you let Windows manage the paging memory.

For WINXP
Rigt click My computer on desktop.
Click Properties
Advanced Tab Click on Performance Settings.
Under Visual effects you may ask OS to adjust for best performance Under Tab Advanced make sure that Processor scheduling and Memory usage are set for Programs.
Verify on same tab that virtual memory is about equal to physical memory (or just let windows manage it)

Virtual memory is actually part of a computer's physical memory that comes in the form of memory chips or RAMs. So what right? Well, it is a necessary evil and in order for your computer to run numerous programs simultaneously (at the same time), it looks for areas of RAM (Random Access Memory) that is not currently being used and it copies files over to what is called page files. This is simply a process that allows RAM to free up space and subsequently load new or additional applications. This process is technically called thrashing and the result of it can cause the computer to react somewhat slower in its functions. However, when the computer hard drive (virtual memory) which is slower than the installed memory chips wants to correct itself, it has to constantly swap between the RAM and the hard disk drive.
What Causes These Windows Out of Virtual Memory Error Messages?

1. The first and foremost probability is that the Windows operating platform page file maximum file size - is too small. You may think your system has a large amount of virtual memory (RAM) because the person that sold you the computer told you so. Well, this may or may not be the actuality if page files are set too low and you are getting error messages. Obviously if you are getting an error message page files are being maxed out and something needs to be changed to correct the situation.
2. There could have been a power failure or, you shut your computer off incorrectly which led to a file or files becoming corrupted and this subsequent virtual memory message beginning to haunt you. So the two lessons learned here is to have a back-up source of power and, to always get into the practice of properly shutting down Windows via the start button where it reads "Turn off computer" in lieu of simply hitting the power off button.

Okay, so now that you have an idea of what virtual memory is, system thrashing and how it suddenly became an irritant error message, what can be done to make things right in your Windows operating platform?
Realize that although Windows automatically sets both minimum (the amount of RAM installed on your PC + 300 MB) and maximum (3 times the amount of installed RAM) to its page file sizes if you do get that virtual memory error message - then you can do the following steps to increase these minimum and maximum page file sizes;
Re-Setting Windows 2000 virtual page file sizes

1. Right-click My Computer , and than click Properties
2. Within System Properties menu box, click Advanced
3. Click Performance Options . Within this pane (Virtual Memory), click Change to increase the paging file. Take special note that your Windows 2000 minimal value requires at least 126 MB for debugging.
4. After you change (increase) the setting, click Set, and than click OK to the following message you will receive;
5. The changes you have made require you to restart your computer before they can take effect.
6. Click OK to close the Performance Options menu, and than click OK to close the Systems Properties menu.
7. When prompted to restart your computer, simply respond to Yes

Re-Setting Windows XP virtual page file sizes

1. Click Start , right click My Computer, and than click Properties
2. In the System Properties menu box, click the Advanced tab.
3. In the Performance menu, click Settings
4. In the Performance Options menu, click upon the Advanced tab.
5. In the Virtual Memory menu, click Change
6. Change the Initial and Maximum Value Sizes to a higher value, click Set and than click OK
7. Click OK to close Performance Options menu, and finally OK to close the Systems Properties menu

Re-Setting Windows Vista virtual page file sizes .

1. Click on the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then click System
2. In the left pane, click Advanced system settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. On the Advanced menu, under Performance, click Settings
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory menu, click Change
5. Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.
6. Under Drive [Volume Label] , click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.

A CPU upgrade would be a good idea, the core 2 duo is a superb processor.
Also a bit more ram perhaps another gig or two? and maybe a 512mb graphics cards would be good for gaming.
perhaps a better power supply too as E520 was not really designed for gaming.

go to control panel
double click system icon
click the advanced tab at the top
by performance click settings
in pop up window click advanced tab
at the bottom you'll see virtual memory
click change
most common option now is to set the radio button to system managed size

Here's the procedure on how to increase virtual memory of your PC:

Right click on My Computer > left click on Properties > Advanced > Settings > Advanced. Under Virtual memory left click on Change.

Select (left click) on the Drive on wich Windows XP is installed. In most cases this will be Drive C.

Under Drive:
Space available: Select the radio button labeled: Custom size:

To play it safe, in both the Initial (MB)size: and Maximun size: dialogue boxes type 2560 (i.e. allocate 2.5GB for the pagefile) provided you have the free memory space to spare. If you don't have enough free memory available enter the amount of memory you can spare, and meanwhile seriously consider getting a larger Hard Drive.

Mine is set to 4096MB (4GB), max. allowed by XP. This may seem like quite a lot, but the reason for this is that recent games now require a lot more real and virtual memory to function correctly, even if you have 2GB of RAM. Having a larger pagefile size does not hurt performance as such; it only takes up a bit of additional disk space.

After setting the new page file size left click on
OK > OK > OK. Then restart the computer.

Perform the steps given below to increase your system performance.

Uninstall all unwanted software:
To uninstall software
Click on Start à Settings à Control Panel à Add/Remove Programs
Select the software (one at the time) from the list and click on the Add/Remove button and follow the online screen instructions.

Erase unnecessary files in the windows temp folder.
Double Click My Computer.
Double Click the drive where windows are installed. This is typically drive C.
Double Click the windows folder. This is typically C:\Windows.
Double Click the temp folder. This is typically C:\Windows\temp.
Press control A to select all files and folders.
Press the delete key.
If confirmation is asked to delete these files choose yes to all.

Defragment hard disk.
Close all applications.
Disable your screen saver.
Disable all the programs on the taskbar if possible.
Click Start.
Click Program.
Click Accessories.
Click System Tools.
Click Defrag.
Select the drive to defrag.
You should defrag every hard disk on your system.
This process can take quite some time.
Click Ok.
Enable your screen saver.

Remove Startup programs (if you know what you are doing)
Click Start
Select Run
Type msconfig in the text box
The "System Configuration Utility" window will open
A list of programs will be shown each having a checkbox to the left of the name.
Click on the checkbox to enable the program (so it runs when windows boots) and click a second time to Uncheck the box to disable the program (so it does not run when windows boots).

Set the size of the virtual memory (swap file) to a constant optimal size.
Right click My Computer
Click Properties
The System Properties window lists the amount of RAM in your PC
Click Performance
Click Virtual Memory
Click Let me specify my own virtual memory settings
Click the arrow next to the hard disk.
Here are some guidelines to choose the best location for your virtual memory file
a) Select the quickest hard disk.
b) If you have, two hard disks that are similar in performance select the hard disk that does not contain Windows system files (usually C:).
c) Make sure the drive has free space equal to at least twice the size of the recommended swap file size.
d) If the partition is on the same physical drive, select the partition in alphabetical order. For example, if you have one 20GB hard disk and you partition it into two 10GB partitions drive C & D) You should pick Drive C over Drive D if meets all the guidelines of a, b & c.
Set the Minimum/Maximum to: With large hard disks settings at least 128mb or 256mb swap file should be sufficient in almost every situation.
Note: The amount of RAM plus the size of the virtual memory file is the maximum amount of RAM you can use at once.
Click OK.
After setting the size of the virtual memory file windows will display the following message. You have chosen not to let windows manage virtual memory automatically.
Click Yes.
You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?
Click Yes
