about the only thing to try would be to remove the inner door panel to get to the control bd then you will see a mylar ribbon looks like a fat piece of scotch tape pull up on the plastic connector that holds it in and pull the ribbon out then get a clean pencil eraser and gently clean the ribbon and put it back in dont forget to push the locking tab back down then try it again and let me know

The keypad interface is bad, you would need to replace that and then it should work great. Let me know if you run into any trouble or have further questions and I would be glad to help.

good luck

Check for loose wires on all switches and their is a fuse on the electronic panel that should be checked.

SOURCE: my KitchenAid dishwasher will not run. Start light is blinking

Make sure the controls are not locked. Some units have the ability to lock the controls so that kids cannot turn on the dishwaher. You can also try unpugging the power to the unit from under the sink for about 10 minutes and then plug it back in. This may reset the control board if it has a fault and stopped from error code.

SOURCE: dishwasher won't start

Hi,
The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched
The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.
If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate.
It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.

The "cancel" light blinks on and off rapidly. If we push start for the cycle the dishwasher clicks off and on intermitently.

Hi,
To solve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence
-high temp wash -heated dry -high temp wash -heated dry
After doing this sequence all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cycle finish (1-2 minutes). You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
Thank you!

Kitchenaid - water suppy not feeding

The water valve is either clogged or burned out. Easiest to check is whether it is burned out. Turn off power, remove kick panel, find where incoming water supply pipe attachs to valve and remove both wires to valve. Zero your ohmmeter and check for continuity across terminals. If it has continuity, valve is good. Use test meter to check for voltage from timer. Connect test meter leads to wires you removed, restore power, close door and put timer, or control panel, to where dishwasher should start filling. If there is 110 volts at the wires to the water valve, the valve is clogged. If there is no voltage, the timer or control is bad and must be replaced.

Kitchen Aid Dishwasher--model #KUDS01DJ

On mine the "normal" light was the one that was flashing; after a cycling of the breaker switch in the electrical main panel and closing the washer door, it went to a 2 minute rinse before shutdown.
