Canister turns but dasher doesn't and there's no obstruction

The dasher rotates, driven by the motor. The canister isn't supposed to move, but sometimes will depending on how thick the ice cream mixture gets. Presumably, if the ice cream were to freeze hard enough, the dasher would find it harder and harder to turn, until eventually the entire canister, with the dasher embedded in the ice cream, would start to rotate in the ice.

I need the ice cream can...my dasher and motor and all work...Maybe we can make a deal!

I cannot find any parts for this. I have one that works great, but my ice cream can is all rusted out. The number is 1 800 557-4825 m-f 8a to 5p est, parent company is Jarden Consumer Solutions. Can't find anything for parts on thier website either. However, you can buy a whole new one for 62.50! It just doesn't make sense!

The canister locks down and the dasher moves the ice cream. Adding too much salt will freeze the motor up.

I went to Jarden Consumer Solutions, who owns Rivel, and called the 1-800 number under the Rivel heading and got a replacement dasher for $6.00 + shipping. Took 4 days to show up.
