We bought a floor model dishwasher at Best Buy. I know. Really stupid of us. A mistake we won't make again. After we got it home, we found it didn't have a manual or an installation kit, or anything else it should have come with. We already have 2 days into trying to get the darn thing to work. None of the hoses worked with the plumbing that hooked up to the dishwasher it replaced. We have been back and forth to the hardware store several times and the hoses still leak like sieves. After we got it hooked up enough that we could try to run it (emptying drip pans regularly) we started the machine. The wash cycle has been going over 2 hours ago and there doesn't seem to be any end to it. How long should a normal wash cycle take on this model? Since we don't have a manual, we don't have a support number to call. This website seemed to be the best option, given our limitations. Imagine my surprise when I clicked on to get an answer for this and found out Whirlpool wants $60 to respond to my question.
This is not a good start to our relationship with Whirlpool. Please help!
We called Best Buy and they have agreed to take it back. After reading all the horror stories I have seen on line with the Whirlpool dishwashers, we will be looking for a different brand. I will be doing considerably more research before our next dishwasher purchase!
Make sure the machine is in the normal cycle and the sani cycle is not selected. If the sanitize cycle is selected the machine will run for a long time while the water heats up . Go back to Best Buy and demand an owners manuel, don't let them get away with this. Also the machine is waranteed through Whirlpool and you should not have to pay for a service call if anything is wrong.

A normal cycle on many dishwashers can go from 1:45 to 2:30 - depending on the make and model.
