All 3 supply voltages check out. Led is white, and backlight good. remote works to turn on and off, black panel, no logo, no picture. A schematic would be nice to find. 28 yrs experience with electronics. Thanks for any advice short of "buy a new mainboard"
The missing +5 seems to me to be a real clue--try to follow it back to mainboard etc---it can be a open or just a processor is not switching it on---impossible to really get a component schematic with voltages etc as they do not want to sell and do not sell discrete parts--if you find it is there Google the internet for that board--seen some on ebay from dropped or junked sets and others elsewhere.
I do not like "replace the board either" but in some cases (which is what the maker wants it is the way the repair work is done now.
over 30 years here in experience from tube type sets to current junk.
Why vizio does not has a schematic for he main board it a shame to see millions of people complain about vizio tv
SOURCE: Where is the backlight inverter located in vizio sv471xvt?
Larger sets such as the one you have, will have two inverters. They usually are attached to the backside of the LCD panel on the left and right sides. If you don't see them there, then your inverters are built into your power board. If your power boards are either one of these below, then that is the case. If your inverter circuit is at fault, you will have to replace the entire power board.

Thanks SD. Just hoping to find the "this part is famous for failure" repair. This set will be parted out.
