Bought the tv with this problem. Power supply relays click when power button pressed. Tv attempts to start. Green led lights on SC board. There is 5v standby power on power supply. HDMI 2 input pins were shorted on A board. I straightened the pins and the tv turned on with good picture and sound. Cycled power and now no start with the same symptoms.
You may want to shop for that board or at least consider removal of the HDMI socket in question---tested for shorts there I presume?
Yes. I removed the damaged HDMI socket. Tested fro shorts and visually inspected the board, no signs of other damage. I did notice a SONY! chip that controls the HDMI ports. Iam assuming the chip was damaged when the pins shorted. I've located a refurbished board for $104. Everyone else was sold out of the A board for this tv. That must mean that it's either a common problem or they stopped manufacturing this board. I tried unplugging the ribbon cables one at a time on the A board but still no luck. This must be the problem with this set. Thanks for your reply. Jim.

I hit the power button and the tv will not power up. I replaced the 2 power supply boards and still no luck getting the tv to power up.
