How to put throttle cable back on 3043yw

Throttle cable has come of carby, not sure how to put back on? There are numerous holes on the accelerator spindle, and a grey and red plastic rotating device whiich appears to be there for the throttle cable. Again not sure if cable goes left, right of centre of the rotating device?

How do i fix ford xf sticky accelerator

I suspect there should be a spring to return the throttle lever to the idle position. Without the spring, the throttle plate will stay open and allow the engine to run at high rpm.

96 dodge 318 idles but dies when you give it gas

Check to make sure that the accelerator pump is working in the carburettor. Look down the carby (when the engine is not running!!) and advance the throttle. You should see a jet of fuel entering the throat of the carby? If no fuel, carby needs service.

My 1996 GMC half ton 2wd revs up to about 2000 rpm on start up without touching the accelerator. After a few seconds, it goes back to normal. Also, when you put it into drive or reverse, it accelerates...

If the throttle cable is not attached properly to the throttle body or you have a bad motor mount, the throttle cable may be pulling the throttle open as you shift into gear. Open the hood, find the throttle cable on the throttle body. Inspect how it is connected and also how the cable is fastened in the engine comoartnent. Next, watch what happens as someone else starts the truck and puts it into gear. If the engine shifts significantly, check for broken motor mounts. If the throttle cable is misbehaving, correct the installation.

I have a TGB laser 2006 moped. It bogs out as it accelerates to the point that it goes back to idle. I have put a new battery on, spark plug, cleaned air filter, and clean out the carb. this did not...

Does it do the same if you manually rev it from the carbie? eliminating throttle cable or throttle problems.

Make sure you dont have an air leak bypassing the carbie (sucking in air before the carb).

Check your coil?

1995 camaro- the gas pedal is hard to depress when starting from a stop. i believe the problem is the accelerator cable but not sure

Hi

1) If the gas pedal is hard to compress you could have a broken spring inside the throttle housing. The throttle housing is located in the sealed compartment of the cruise control housing.(The housing with the rubber bladder.) You will have to remove the rubber covering to inspect the inner workings of the throttle mechanism. If every thing looks intact push on the accelerator. If it is still hard to push in, you could have a rusty cable.

2) A simple can of WD-40 should be applied lightly to the inner workings of the housing parts.
Try the throttle again and if it is still hard to push, check the connections of the cables to the throttle apparatus. Use the long plastic tube on the spray nozzle of your WD-40 can to shoot lubricant in to the small openings of the cable sleeve.

3) It may take a few minutes of manipulating the throttle to loosen up the corroded cable connections. Once the cable slides and the throttle seems to move freely take a dab of Vaseline and coat the ends of the cable connections. Vaseline will keep the moving parts lubricated and protect the connections from becoming more corroded.

4) By lubricating all moving linkages, you can prevent further throttle sticking. Make sure you replace all coverings back to the way they were when you started. Sit in the drivers seat and push the throttle pedal a few times to ensure that the throttle is no longer sticking.

5) Take your car out for a short spin in a unpopulated area such as a empty parking lot. Start and stop the vehicle numerous times to check it out. If the gas sticks at a slow operating speed, you can simply put the car in to neutral, apply the brakes and switch the ignition off. It is always better to be safe ..

However for an easy solution check cable to throttle body, it may be kinked. This is a common problem. Remove the throttle body and clean the throttle plate with a throttle body cleaner. Clean the front and back of the plate. Just spray and wipe off with a rag. Do not scrub with a wire brush. Doing this can damage the throttle plate. You can buy throttle body cleaner at most parts stores. Make sure you clean up your IAC valve while its off, that thing gets gunked up bad after a while.

Eninge wont start unless petrol is tipped down carby. carby is a rochester quadrajet with auto choke .

might have to put a carby kit through it, the jets might be blocked thats what it sounds like. when you poor it in the fuel and air gets in straight away but if the jets are blocked you wont get the fuel through. try carby cleaner, use the accelrator cable on the side of the carby to rev it right up while spraying in carby cleaner car will try die out then let off the accelerator. basically you have to clean your carby out

My bike stays reved up i checked the throttle but i cant find the problem

Did you pull the carby slide out when you checked the throttle?
If so you have put the slide in backwards.
Remove the top off the carby again & pull out the slide & needle.Turn it around & be sure to be carefull when you re- insert it you dont try to force it in. Also be sure that the needle(jet needle) goes in the hole(needle jet)properly & the slide seats all the way down.

This should fix your problem.

get some thing to patch the hole on the tank, go to your local e auto parts store they might have some thing, or get some of that mighty putty you see on tv and patch the hole as for the throttle cable you need a mechanic to fix that.
