I have replaced the sending unit on my truck and my gas gauge is still not holding a true reading. I have the aftermarket gas gauge, but I'm not sure of the wiring on it, and I don't want to wire it incorrectly. Can anyone provide me with pictures or a detailed description of how to wire the aftermarket gas gauge please?

Your Fuel Filter is on the Passenger side Underneath the Truck Inside the Frame Rail right about Even with the Door. Lines are VERY Easy to Follow from There.

There should be a wire that connects to the gas tank sending unit and maybe another wire connected to a spade terminal that could be screwed down to the in-tank sending unit. The brown wire from your gas tank sending unit goes to the back of the dash guage. All the gas tank sending unit does is give a "ground" signal to the dash guage. Whatever you do, do not connect the brown wire to a positive 12 volt wire as sending 12 volts through the gas tank sender will explode the gas tank! Take a look at this website and it will all clear up for you.

You did not say if your dash guage is wires with a plug-in or single wires connecting it. If what i've given you here is not enough to fix the whole problem then respond back with how does the wires connect to the back of the guage. Good Luck!

if you replaced the tank and all i assume you didnt change the fuel pump. if you dint then all thats wrong is that the float on the fuel pump is gas logged and will move more than if you had put in a new pump thus the fluctuation in the guage.

It could be a knock sensor, crank sensor, or vacuum leak. Best information I can give you is www.alldata.com Costs about 25$ a year, however, it will tell you where every nut, bolt, wire, ground, power, and diagrams for every single part in your Truck based on your vehicle's VIN. I have used this service on my 01 Denali since the warr expired and it has saved me thousands of hours and lots of aggravation. It also lists any Technical Service Bulletins on your vehicle as well as "How To's" Hope this helps.

Ok, I have everything figured out, except which wire coming out of the sending unit goes to the gauge. Any help would be appreciated.
