I have an error code E3 on the left side of the display on a magic chef wine cooler dual zone model MCWC44DZ. What is this imply and what should we do?
I had an E3 on the upper zone. This fix was simple. Unscrew the 2 screws for the middle tray. Pull tray out as far as you can. Check the wires in the back, those are the wires for the fans in the back. The connectors over time corrode, and break off... All I did was connected the 2 wires that had broken off of their connector directly to eachother. E3 went away and the cooler is working as it should now.in
Fixed with **** connectors, but due to the gauge of the wires I think this may happen again. At that time it would be a good idea to replace the wires in total.
I had the same thing, I looked at the wires after pulling out the plastic tray and found that there was water on the connectors , and the connectors were corroded, so I connected them without a plug.

I concur with the fix solution. I just repaired mine and it is working as advertised!!
I agree with infomag2005, I just fix mine, there is another post where they recommend to remove the tray completely, I did that and is not necessary.Simply unscrew the middle tray and slide out as far as you can. Pay attention to the right side there are many of the cables that made the fridge to work, there are push inside the tray, you can pull them out carefully that will give you an extra inch or so to work on the back.Make sure you mark the cables on the back, ( there are two reds and two blacks) before you cut them. Cut them as close as possible to the connectors. Peel and reconnect. Isolate them very well with electrical tape. The humidity in that part of the fridge is what cause the problem in the first place. So the more you isolate them the better.Put everything together and voila works like a charm, now drink a glass of cool wine:)

Our magic chef wine fridge is one year and two months old (just outside the warranty period) and has the same problem. Has anyone tried to fix this themselves?
