I believe the model # is 6031 cordless vtech. it is less than 1 year old. this is the second time it has happened. i contacted you once before and was given instructions that worked. i do not remember what to do. the phone was accidently disconnected last week before this happened. I cannot make long distance calls sometimes because it won't complete the call. i cannot put in an extension # either. please contact me. jeanne white 937 836-1333 or email
Jeanne fist a background history lesson - there are two dialing modes in existence one is pulse or earlier on was known as decadic dialing. This is where the phone would break the connection a number of times to represent the number dialed. Remember the old dial phones that you would dial a nine and it would spin around back to its original position and would break the line nine times . Very Very slow way to Dial.
now to the 21st century - Tone dialing was invented also know as multi tone frequency dialing MFTD by sending two frequency tones numbers and symbols could be encoded to pass through the phone line quickly.

SOURCE: Problem when dialing phone
Yes, I have had nothing but trouble with my V-Tech ia5823.
Slow to dial, dropping out going calls and now the base light is flashing at a rapid pace and will not charge the handset.
I want to return it to Wal-Mart but have misplaced the recepit.
I will never buy another V-Tech..Uniden is the way to go!

if all your 4 units ( phones ) are rringing at the same time, the problem is on the line itself.so try to contact your network's costumer care to repair it.

Hi.
Do the following system reset:
Disconnect all power adapter cables from wallsockets.
Remove all handsets from cradles.
Remove all battery from cradles.
Check the phone socket and ensure that the line is OK. Use a corded phone to test.
Connect back the Vtech phone cable.
Fit back the batteries in their handsets.
Place back handsets in their cradles.
Connect power.
The procedure above will reset the system and will re-sync handsets to cradles. If that does not work, then some of the units in the system is defective. In that case the whole system will be replaced or repaired under limited warranty terms. Contact Vtech to get your one year warranty validated.
