Water dispenser suddenly stopped working. Ice maker still works. Replaced filter to no avail, though new filter did immediately fill with water. When water dispenser lever is depressed, it emits the same soft humming sound it always has, but no other sounds are heard (ie clicking), Freezer temp has been turned warmer for several days, but still no water flow from dispenser. Any ideas?

Sorry, I crossed posted you the answer for an ice maker issue. Check the water line loop that is in the refrigerator section to see if it is frozen. This is a spooled up line that chills the water for the water dispenser.

SOURCE: no water is being dispensed from the water
Start by : at the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig . Ge also has a dispensor heater , pt # WR49X10173 , with instructions , to keep this freezing from happening again , if this is the problem .

2 possible problems.
#1 water valve for the water side is stuck in the closed position. Only way to tell is to pull the bottom kick panel out and look for the water line disconnect. Separate the line, close the door and try to draw water through the dispenser. If the water comes out of the disconnected line, then the water valve is good.
#2 if water is coming out of disconnected line, then the problem is in the freezer door. There is a heater that keeps the water line from freezing inside the freezer door. It is not repairable!! The freezer door has to be replaced.

check the water valve on the back of the ref. it sends water to the ice maker and water in the door one can work and the other one not
