If you back up all your data on your desktop it will be restored with your next hotsync after the hard reset. I recommend the hard reset but if you really don't want to try that they I suggest you try using the free palm chat. Here is the link for that. You can try doing a hard reset. A hard reset will delete everything on your device. All your
data will be deleted, and formats, preferences and other settings are
restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset

After you change the battery you need to do a hard reset. This will erase all the info in your pda so you want to make sure you have it all backed up on the palm desktop To do a hard reset follow these steps:

Hold down the power button. 2 While holding down the power button, use the tip of the stylus and inset it into the hole in the back of your pda and gently press and release the reset button in the back of your pda. 3. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held select continue. 4. When prompted follow the online directions to align the screen. for hard reset press reset hole and same time hold power button and release after 10 seconds choose yes when option given to erase all data.
Please make sure you have backed up your data prior to hard reset as it will erase all personal information and set everything to factory default
If you want to change the user (this will enable you to sync without old data) then yes, a hard reset. To do this hold down the power button and press the reset button. fter 2 seconds release the power button and delete all data when prompted. Now when you hotsync you will be prompted for a new user.
you gotta do a hard reset. i had the same problem. go to the palmone website and look up how. make sure you back your stuff up in case you can't get things back. once you perform the hard reset the error should go away.
Try a hard reset and if that doesn't work, drain your battery then recharge it. if that doesn't work than you'll just have to deal with it.
