I seem to be having the same issue with a Maytag refrigerator model M1TXEGMYS01. I would like to thoroughly clean all shelves of this new-to-is refrigerator but I can’t seem to figure out how to remove the glass from the plastic housing. I was able to take the end and central brackets off (that hold the drawers) but I can’t figure the rest of it out... and the manual I looked up didn’t provide any information on separating the housing either. Please see pic attached. Thanks in advance!
Well, I don't know about the individual shelves, but for the long glass shelf above the crisper drawers, there are two white clips located at the back edges of the glass that need to be pried out with a knife blade, or something similar. Place your blade in between one of the grooves of where the clip meets the plastic frame (and, NOT between the clip and glass! ) and pry the clip with a bit of a sideways motion. It's a little stubborn, but if you break a clip, don't worry, you really don't need it for the shelf to function.
Anyway, after you pry up the two corner clips, lift and slide the glass toward the back to get it out of the front groove, and voila!, the glass comes right out.
If it's the deli drawer from the bottom of you refer and you took the entire assembly out at once you will know because it all came apart when you started cleaning it. If it's got two drawers then you now have a piece of glass a frame with legs on it and two drawers. So open the refer all the way, look at the back and the sides where you removed it from, you'll see some groves or ridges or little nubs take the frame by its self and fit it into those places you see, then take the drawers one at a time ( usually the one closest to the door hinge is best to start) and slide them back into place. take your time because like a dresser drawer there is a notch that you will have to work with that's designed to keep you from pulling it completely out when you open it. then place the glass into the frame on top and your done.
On my Kenmore (795.7555* made by LG) French door, the adjustable shelves are removed by tilting them up and then bringing them forward. The sliding shelves and drawers just pull forward.
Which model LG refrigerator do you have? There may have been design changes between your fridge and mine. Please add a comment with the information for specific instructions.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (I didn't bother to give the full model number of my fridge since the directions also apply to the 795.7519* and 795.7554*)
most shelves have the glass attached to the side brackets,, empty the shelf, and at the back of the fridge,, you'll see slotted rails that go top to bottom,, tap the shelf bracket upwards and it should come right out,, be careful,, once off the glass may come out too,,
