HDMI connection with Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray Disc Player

I have THREE panasonic BD all 3D and ALL failed the HDMI output.
The fourth one gives me statics but there is picture coming out through HDMI.
The Sony andsamsung works fine with the same HDMI cable and TV.
So far Panasonic has a big issue with HDMI output

Problem: Video using HDMI works fine from the BluRay player directly to TV. However, there is sound but no video when the player is connected from the player through the receiver to the TV.

To connect from the player through the receiver to the TV, the player HDMI resolution must not be on ‘auto’. It must be set to a resolution that can be used by the TV. If it is left on ‘auto’, the player sends ‘1080p’ to the receiver. Unfortunately, if the player is turned on first; the player video resolution automatically reverts to ‘auto’.

The fix:
Using the BluRay player alone: Hook the HDMI cable to the TV. Using the BluRay player setup under ‘TV/Device Connection’ and then ‘HDMI Connection’ set the ‘HDMI Resolution’ to the highest resolution the TV can handle. Turn off the player. Hook the HDMI from the player to the receiver and then HDMI from the receiver to the TV. Turn on the receiver and TV first. Then turn on the BluRay player. There should be video. Never turn on the BluRay player before the receiver. Otherwise the above procedure needs to be repeated.


Using the receiver and the BluRay player: In the receiver set up under ‘Hardware Setup’ and then ‘HDMI,’ set the output resolution to ‘Auto.’ This is the only resolution that worked for me and gave me a picture on the TV. Using the BluRay player setup under ‘TV/Device Connection’ and then ‘HDMI Connection’ set the ‘HDMI Resolution’ to the highest resolution the TV can handle. You can then modify the receiver output resolution as needed. Never turn on the BluRay player before the receiver. Otherwise the above procedure needs to be repeated. I prefer this method to the ‘BluRay player alone’ method.
However, the “receiver and the BluRay player” procedure may not work for everyone.

Try hooking the Panasonic up straight to the tv without going through the receiver. If it displays a picture its obviously not the blu-ray player. May also be a problem with the HDMI cable itself. Hope this helps.
