The unit could be new/defective----take it back if new and exchange it---if do that check the new unit before leaving store.

SOURCE: reading but DVD is not spinning in portable dvd player

Some suggestions assuming you know you're using good discs, and have this problem with more then 1 disc. In anything that requires you to open the player and play around in it, I also assume you're not too akward with electronics, and out of warranty: spindle motor problems - you could either fix that by changing the motor, or occasionaly by dropping a little bit of 3 in 1 oil on the shaft. Just dont start it as a hobby if you can still go complain at the store... Good luck

SOURCE: DVD player reloads after 5 minutes into the movie

I have a K715 that was having the same problem. The "line select" had been switched from "in" instead of "out". Once I switched it back to "out", the player worked normal.

SOURCE: Zenith DVP615 Portable DVD AC Adaptor DPAC1

I own this dvd player and the AC adapter broke. Instead of paying for a new cord (if one is even available) we decided to order an AC to DC converter from Amazon so we can use the car cord for the dvd player in the house. We also own an extra long life battery for the machine (from Battery Geek) and use that so we rarely need the ac adapter.

Model PD708B works fine with the 120v cord but not with the car outlet cord...any idea what is wrong? I purchased a new cord from Radio Shack and got the same results '"disc can not be read".

Hi there,

Generally, "disc cannot be read" error relates either to a bad disc, or an optical laser problem.

DVD Optical lasers require sufficient current for optimum performance.

If you are adamant this error only occurs when you are running the car outlet cord, then it must be an issue of an insufficient power supply: either your vehicle is not producing enough current (i.e. amps) through the car socket, or the car adaptor itself is of the incorrect type, or simply not providing the correct output.

If the car adaptor is of the adjustable type, check to ensure it is set to the correct voltage and amperage output.

Good luck...

Where can I buy a replacement ac adapter for my pvs 133 dvd player

Radio Shack sell universal AC adaptors. Just be sure that you select the correct voltage and that the polarity on the power plug is set correctly. Most AC adaptors will have the center of the plug as +, but not all. The Radio Shack universal unit allows you to switch the polarity of the plug by just changing how it's connected on the end of the wire. Incorrect settings could destroy your player.

Missing AC adapter

If you look at your DVD player, it will have information such as 5V, 2.2A. This information will help you choose the correct AC adaptor. Head over to The Source, FutureShop, BestBuy, etc and bring the DVD player in.

As for a universal AC adaptor. These range from $15 - $50. Just make sure the one you get has the correct plug and voltage/amp range and polarity for it. The salesperson should be able to help.

Here is a picture of such an adaptor. This is a picture of the back of an electronic device, showing 5V and the polarity. If your player has no information with the AC port, you will need to look for a label on the device with this information.
