There is no way to reset it manually. It resets automatically after you run it a few hours.

SOURCE: Where can i get a new battery for my generac

Well, check your farm supply/hardware stores... some larger hardware chains may carry this battery and even the auto parts stores, some will carry these smaller batteries. Take down the make and model of the generator, or even better, take the battery along and they can fit you up with an alternative brand that will fit the space and provide the proper voltage to crank the generator.

Good luck!

Generac XP8000E how do you replace the battery charger fuse 1.5 all I can find out is you have to remove the control panel. No manual and can't find any info

Roger,

1st check the voltage going into the Battery Charging Rectifier from the alternator. You should get between 12 Volts DC to 16 Volt DC with the engine running.

If you get these results next check the battery. You should get max 13v dc going to the battery. If your battery is not charging on this unit or gets under 12x dc, you need to replace the battery charging rectifier.

If you need other parts you can find them on this page.

What kind of oil do you use

Judy, Generac portable generator oil recommendations. Above 40°F, use SAE 30. Below 40°F and down to 10°F, use 10W-30. Below 10°F, use synthetic 5W-30. Oil should be changed after the first 8 hours of operation and every 200 hours of run time thereafter.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Generac 20,000kW Standby generator doesn't start shows message STOP ALARM OVERCRANKED

Overcrank means that it tried to start and couldn't. It will go through 5 crank cycles and then stop with this alarm. Switch to off, hit enter to clear fault and then try to start in manual. Check to make sure you have fuel and pressure is 11 to 14 in WC.

Xp8000e wont start. sound like a dead battery, nor will pull start turn engine over.

have you tried removing the spark plug and see if possibly there's a hydro lock from gas or oil in the piston area of the machine, this will remove any pressure off the starter and also pull rope mechanism, then you can visually look into the cylinder and see whats going on,then if this doesn't help then you may have a locked up engine from lack of oil lubrication and the rod bearings in the sump may be bad resulting in the need for a complete rebuild of the engine,if the engine checks out o.k. then you may have a locked up generator head, you may need to split the two components to find out which is locked up

Have XP 8000e Generac -5 months old, Tires are supposed to be solid but have gone about completly flat on bottom, don.t seem solid like ones in store but no place to air up ...cb

These tires are made of a hard plastic with thick sidewalls to hold the generator up. They are not repairable once the sidewalls break down and collapse. The only option is to replace them. If you're still under warranty you can get them replaced under that. Only problem is you'll get the same kind of tires, unless Generac has updated them, and have the same problem in another five to six months. Your best bet is to do some research and find some truly pneumatic or solid/foam filled tires for your generator.
