Scrolling wavey lines or color on screen

When I turn on my ws-73713 with a feed in the component input it will display and scroll wavy lines on the sides. It might stop in a few minutes or it might take all day. When I have a feed in the antenna input it scroll green and purple wavy lines from top and bottom. It also does the same thing when I input to the front of the TV. Can someone help me?

Yes Rhonda, first you need to do a self test to show what is going on inside set. You can search threads on test or goto ctechnicians.com. This will put you in the ball park of what is going on.

SOURCE: TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

SOURCE: scrolling diagonal lines

The cable box signal on the components video have a too high refresh rate frequency, that is the reason for the lines.
Use RCA cables or an alternative connection.
Other solution is changing the display out settings for cable box (from PAL to NTSC etc.)

SOURCE: mitsubishi WS-65611 tv channels cannot stop scrolling

Check to make sure the channel down button is not stuck. If it is not the button is probably defective. Mits has had a lot of problems with the buttons.

Mitsubishi rearTV has intermittent wavy lines running throughout

Do you have anything to test it in 1080i? Does it do it on all connections or just one? I had a similar problem with my TV that turned out to be a bad input board. Mine would only display 1080i through the Component connections. All others would show pink and green wavy lines. It cost me around 500 to fix it. Unplug the TV. Remove the back cover for the TV. Using a NON-metal object, or gloves, wiggle the input board (that has all the video connections on it) slowly back and forth and see if the problem comes and goes. You will have to have someone watching for you. If something is loose on that board, the problem should show itself. Narrowing down the problem will probably save you money on repair bills.

Have wavy lines in picture sometimes-could this be a faulty wire?

On the signal board there is 4 surface mount transistors. There is one right by the input board (BA09), i would check the corresponding caps and diodes close to it also. I would replace all of the 4 transistors. If this SMT starts to go you will see wavy lines in your picture than it will go away in 3 min or so and get worse over time until no picture is seen. When it totally fails you will have no inputs what soever but you will have an OSD screen and when you choose DTV you will get a scrolling picture.

When i scroll up and down the page is wavey

If for wavy you mean that it is very jumpy as you scroll, not smooth, then it is a classic sign of the incorrect driver for your video card.

Scrolling lines

Try using a DVD though the component input (need a 480P out ). If the pix si ok I wouldsuspect the cable box. If the problem is still there I would suspect a video switching IC or a Leaky regulator.
