I need to replace the touch pad and touch pad keys on a Sony VAIO VGN-FS660/W. How do I open the computer properly? is the a manual for repair of this computer?
no longer under warrentee. laptop is 4 years old. with any type of diagram/repair manual i can swap the touchpad and button out myself. i could do it without the manuals just will make it easier with them.no longer under warrentee. laptop is 4 years old. with any type of diagram/repair manual i can swap the touchpad and button out myself. i could do it without the manuals just will make it easier with them.

This will download the driver for your touch pad then you need to run the driver that you downloaded.
Then restart the notebook
Check whether it is working.
you can find other drivers for Sony Vaio VGN-A790 on the below link.
i have two solutions for you. the touch pad can be disabled on the motherboard so plz hold-down the fn key and press the function key that has the sign of a hand pointing something and the second is that ur drivers that enables thae touch pad to work has been courrupted so plz try reinstalling for the touchpad or try repairing ur operating system.
My Vaio touchpad started behaving strange. I could move the curser, but no response on left or right click or double tap. Also found that in any search field or user name fields, the computer would just type endless 9's. My wireless mouse could operate the left and right click buttons, but not move the curser. A suggestion to get the mousepad operating again was to touch any key on the keyboard. This allowed it to function again. Final solution was to remove the battery, then hold down the start key for about a minute, reinsert the battery and start it up. It seems to have resolved the problem. I have a 3 month only laptop with Windows 7 already installed. Hope this helps.
usually there are screws coming upward from the bottom to remove the keyboard, then you have to remove the palmrest which the touchpad is integrated into.
