My computer wont recognise my FinePix A610 camera

I have used it before. It is connected via USB. I have tried using different ports and also using other devices throught these ports and they work fine. But I cannot get my PC to notice when my camera is plugged in.

The camera, when connected and turned on comes up that it is connected, but my computer wont acknowledge it.

I have tried downloading the drivers and reinstalling them, no luck there either.

Help!!

Oh, I am using windows XP.

Same problem, except I'm using vista. Originally camera wouldn't be recognised in the manual way so I had to copy and paste photos manually via "My Computer" etc. Now I can't even access the photo's via that. :(

Suggest that you go tp my computer as the answer above has suggested and attempt to open drive(memory chip) in the camera and download. If not suggest removing the memory chip from the camera and try accessing via Walmart or other stores photo Kiosk.

Suggest opening Fin-pix first before connecting camera.

Through fine-pix search for camera as if it was an external drive. Hope this helps?

SOURCE: cannot upload pics from camera to PC

Hi Ray;
Try uninstalling the Fuji software completely, through the Windows control panel. Don't use the supplied software at all. Make sure the camera is unplugged from the computer. Open "my computer" and note which drives are present. Now plug in the camera (still turned off) to the USB port. Turn the camera power switch on. Wait and see if a new drive icon shows up. It may take a minute or so. If you get a new icon (probably Fuji DSC or similar), you should be able to open the new drive and access the images through the various folders. If not, can you see images on the camera screen (when not connected to computer)? If yes, maybe a bad cable. If no, could be corrupted images on card.

SOURCE: can't get my computer (win xp) to detect my finepix camera

Sounds like there is no connection between your camera and your pc.
Try another USB port on your PC.
You actually do not require a driver for XP.
XP will automatically detect the camera. SP2 + 3
If all fails, get a card reader.

SOURCE: Finepix J12 cannot upload photos onto computer.

Here's the best solution. Get a card reader for your card (available at Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy, etc.) and use it to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you can do anything you like with them.

Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 working fine, but Windows 11 wont recognise it. Any ideas please?

If your Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 camera is working fine but is not being recognized by Windows 11, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the USB cable: Make sure that the USB cable you are using is properly connected to both the camera and the computer. Try using a different USB cable to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Check the USB port: Try connecting the camera to a different USB port on your computer to see if the port is the issue. Some USB ports may not have enough power to detect the camera.
  3. Install the camera driver: If the camera did not come with a driver disc, try downloading and installing the driver from the manufacturer's website. Make sure to download the correct driver for your camera model and operating system.
  4. Restart the computer: Sometimes, restarting the computer can help to resolve issues with USB devices not being recognized.
  5. Try a different computer: If the above steps do not work, try connecting the camera to a different computer to see if the issue is with the camera or the computer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there may be a hardware problem with the camera. In that case, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for further assistance.

My pc wont recognise my camers

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

How do I download photos from my digital camera to my computer

well the quickest way if you dont have the cable is to insert the card into a card reader that connects to your pc via a USB port. Reader costs about $10 and is simple to use and does not have all the hassles of not being recognised by the operating system like the camera occasionaly will.
Any pics in camera memory can be transferred to the card via the internal menu

My usb cable is not being recognised I have to put memory card into my kodak and up load onto compu that way, i've removed and reinstalled using disc supplied with camera but still with no success, i even...

Try using a different USB port. Sometimes the camera is not probably installed if you use the "wrong" port. After the camera has been recognized you should be able to use any port.

Software driver problem

Do any other devices connect successfully to that same USB port?
If no, try another USB port.
If yes, when you reinstalled your software, did you uninstall first? If not, see if you can. Once uninstalled, verify that the device is removed via Device Manager.
Once removed, if on XP or Vista, try to connect using the built in system drivers.
If this does not work, try reinstalling your drivers, but be sure to check for system prompts when you connect. If you do not respond to those prompts, the device will not mount.
Let me know how it turns out.
