Can your washer front load run off a portable generator power

Plugged washer into a cord from my portable generator and saw a digital readout for the timer and then it went blank. Cord does have a ground bar on it. Tried again ten minutes later and I get nothing on the screen

You probably fried the control board. The older machines would work fine on a generator but the newer ones are sensitive to power fluctuations.

There is just too much resistance in that cord. Get a 12 gage extension cord. And yes I think you burned out the generator due to severely overloading it.

I HAVE POWER BUT THE CONTROL PANEL HAS NO POWER

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Check Power
Check the outlet by plugging an appliance into the same outlet the washer was plugged into an running the appliance a hair dryer works good for this it will draw some amperage. If it works fine move on.

Control
To check the control remove the top panel and then remove the console to access the wiring to the control. Find the wire feeding the control from the main power cord. If you cannot visually see this refer to the tech sheet or service manual. Connect voltmeter to the 2 wires feeding the control if it is recieving power and it does not respond replace the control.

Hook up electrical cord and run a TV, Fan, and it burns up the load (TV, fan, etc.).

Check what your voltage / frequency is coming out if the unit, generator outlets.

Every tme I plug in an extenson cord the circuit breaker trips.

Try a different cord and see if it works ok. If the circuit breaker trips without anything plugged into the extension cord then the chances are that there is a short in the socket of the cord or it is wired incorrectly.

The pull cord is locking up and wont allow it to turn over

you need to remove the front cover where the pull start Cord is and check for anything that is blocking the Cord a broken spring under the Cord wheel can cause this as well

The Kenmore Elite washing machine gets an F1 code on the digital readout then stops. Once the start and stop buttons are cycled a couple of times the machine starts running again.

Check to see if the screens for your hot and cold water connections are plugged with grit.
Or else the problem might be due to factory defect in the control circuit board of this washer.

Coleman 6250 gen

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the generator, I'm not sure what the Amp rating on a 1 hp compressor is, but starting currents can be 5 or more times the rated current, especially for starting heavy loads like compressors. While the motor only needs it for a short time, if it doesn't get it, it ain't gonna start. If you really need to run this compressor off this generator, one possible solution is to see if the compressor motor has connections inside to wire it for 240 volt operation. I realize in theory you should have available the same full power rating from the generator at 120 v and 240 v. However, many times a motor will still start more easily on 240 than 120, for the same reason that automobile starters went from 6 volt to 12 volt. If you do change the voltage to 240, BE SURE TO CHANGE THE POWER CORD AND PLUG ON THE COMPRESSOR!!!

As a side note, I have one of these generators I purchased as "refurbished", and it is flakey. It works, mostly, but not exactly right. I'm working on it. So anything COULD be wrong.
