BUSH 42" plasma no picture or sound?

Hi, my BUSH 42" plasma has suddenly decided to stop working, no picture or sound. The red standby light doesnt blink at all, and theres just a clicking sound coming from the PSU board, i have replaced the PSU board but the problem is still there. Once the clicking stops (after a couple of seconds) i then press the power button either on the remote or the tv unit itself, and the green power light comes on but the clicking starts again for a couple of seconds but thats it, still no picture or sound. Can anyone help, please? Karl.

You have a power supply problem, replace the Module.
What you ear is a click relay No juice to activate the relay
Some cups may be dried.

Thanks for your reply, when you say to change the module, do you mean the main PSU board? If so i did this already this morning but there is no change :(

I have the same problem. since I have 3 of these TV's, I switched boards around, and I came to the conclution that is the power board. I will try to repair it, and I'll let you know the component that is bad. Gaston

I had a similar problem. You likely have 1 or more bad capacitors on the power supply board. You can easily identify them - they have a raised or rounded appearance on the top instead of being flat. Remove the power supply board and take to electronics repair shop and have them replaced. The capacitors only cost me $4.24 for two. Now mine works fine. The repair man replaced them for free. It took him only 10 minutes to solder them on the board. Easy, cheap fix but manufacturer won't tell you that. I fixed this on 1-02-09. My 2 bad capacitors were "3300uf 10v" and I replaced with "3300uf 16v" but you might be able to replace with "4700uf 35 v" also.

SOURCE: 42 LG plasma no picture but sound. found internal

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other parts inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen itself. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say what is 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:

1. Best thing to do, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. Its the best repair guide material for fixing TVs. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

2. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Power light red no sound no picture

Red light is standby, it turns green when TV IS turned on. If the red light is flashing then there is a problem and number of flashers are a code to indicate a fault type.

I have a Bush 42"

The screen is the most expensive part of the TV.

This plus engineers cost would be not cost effective.

It would be worth getting a quote but more than likely getting a new TV would be better.
