CDX-GT300 DOESNT PLAY BASS FOR CD, AUX PLUG IN, OR IPOD CONNECTOR

I recently moved this head unit to a different car and got it connected and tested it out with the radio, it seemed to work fine and sounded great. i finished installing it. once it was in i put a cd in to test it out one more time, the cd played the music but it was all treble no bass. i then tried hooking up my ipod, same thing. the radio works fine and all the fade and balance are set correctly along with the bass being up. i have all stock speakers. i tried contacting sony but they haven't been any help so far. SO SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

You may have dealt with this by now or have since gotten rid of the unit, but see this post - i think it answers your question. http://www.fixya.com/support/t603858-no_sound_from_cd_or_aux_cdx_gt32w
I moved my cdx-gt300 today and ran into a glitch and was reading up here. Saw your post and realized it was answered for another person.

How do you connect ipod to head unit?

If there is a port for an iPod cable then you just pull head unit and connect it. Most people run it out and through the glove box. If there is no port for it then you have to buy a kit.

Crutchfield .com has all that stuff and if not, go to your local car audio shop and ask them to rip you off for the parts and installation.

Hello my car is equipped with a Sony CDX-L410X head unit and i want to be able to connect my ipod directly to the head unit. the head unit does not have an aux or usb port on the front does it have an...

Hello! Maybe I can help with your question. This model headunit does not support ipod control. It does not have rear or front inputs via 1/8mm jack that you could use the headphone output. You only have a couple of options here. First would be to purchase a wireless fm modulator that would transmit the ipod output through your cars antenna. (i.e. set the radio to 88.1, 88.3, etc) These can be purchased at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. The only other option would be to replace the headunit with a compatable unit. We sell a Kenwood for $139 that has a front USB port as well as the aux input. The USB on this unit reads droid phones and ipod. That model number is KDC-248U. Hope this helped! Good luck with your venture!

How to hook up a head unit to an amplifier, when the head unit has no RCA plug ins? It was done before in my old car now i cant remember how.

Here is a link to owners manual for Sony CDX-GT300.

Here is a link to installation instructions. It looks to me that there are front and rear line out RCA connectors on the back side of your head unit. (Unless, this is not the model of your head unit)

There are devices that are capable of converting speaker level output to line level (RCA) output. I know Scoch is one brand, and here is a link to others.

Hope this helps.

There is a auxiliary button on the sony cdx-m8800. Is there a way to hook up an IPOD? The stereo also has MP3 written on the inside face. Thanks

Contrary to the below Expert's testimony, the UK CDX-M880 has a REAR AUX connector that will enable you to play your iPod through your car's stereo.

You will not be able to control the ipod's interface through the radio. You will have to use the control on the iPod .

You require a Male 3.5mm extension cable like the following...

a5e60c6.jpg A 4-6 foot length is recommended, as the cable will need to be routed from behind the radio to a place your iPod can be easily manipulated.

I have a male ipod connector in my car to attach an ipod to. I do not have an ipod but would like to be able to connect a standard mp3 player to this connect point via a jack plug. Please can you advise if...

If your Sony has female RCA Aux inputs, then you can use that going headphone out of MP3 player to the RCA inputs. You won't be able to view or controll any other player from the head unit except an iPod.

I have a CDE-9872 and it wont pick up my ipod touch

Add Alpine's optional "Full Speed" connection cable and you'll be able to use the CDE-9872 to control your iPod. -Crutchfields website

This is compatible with first and second generation iPods touch.
fyi- if you have a mini-stereo aux in jack on the deck you can connect a ipod touch compatible mini stereo cable to the earphone jack of your ipod.

Want to use ipod on cdx-f5710, how to fix it

use the aux lite input on the rear of the reciever. If it is a 3.5mm plug, you will need an extension with both ends male. One end in the aux port, on your head unit, the other end in the headphone jack of the ipod.
If it is RCA Aux lite, you need an rca-to-3.5mm adapter. Either item should be relatively cheap. $4-$5 USD
