My toshiba satelitte has for some reason has started to ask for a bios password. How can I reset ir?

enter the bios using password - go to security page and remove password by entering current password then press enter 2x - save changes to bios then exit.The password is now removed.

For unknown bios you will need to take it to a Toshiba service center or search for bios removal proceedures available for your model.This video may help.Cheers

It is difficult to reset the BIOS password.Only the reason it is the back door password and locate behind the BIOS chip .

I presume this is the CMOS or BIOS password.
Turn the unit over and find the ram cover, remove the ram locate the two brass bars near where the ram was. Take a paper clip and bridge them to short out and reset bios password.
