Do you mean the Uniden EXI4560 2.4 GHz phone? With the handset in standby, press the volume up button (above End and just below the LCD screen). Then you will be able to toggle between the 5 available ring tones and volume levels. (I'm assuming the unit is set to Ringer Off which is another choice in the list.) Press End to confirm and save your ring volume setting.

Sorry, Uniden EXP4540 2.4 GHz does not have a speaker phone feature. The cordless phone features AutoTalk™ and AutoStandby™. AutoTalk™ allows you to answer a call by just removing the handset from the base so you don't have to waste time pushing buttons. AutoStandby™ allows you to hang up by simply returning the handset to the base. You can check it's manual with this link http://www.uniden.com/pdf/EXP4540om.pdf.

usually this means you have voicemail...listen to the messages and delete them and the beeps should go away...

Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

Code E8 showing on Uniden DECT cordless phone and answering machine. Answer after waiting on hold FOREVER. "Have you had a power outage?" me yeah probably we live in the Midwest "Well that particular code means there is a problem with the base that needs repair. You have a one year warranty." great now I got to find the receipt.

The answering machine is full, delete the messages.

It may not be registed with the main unit. You may need to register the handset. With my uniden all i have to do is put it in the main base until it says what handset it is (it should be a number).
