NEC LCD1980SX - displaying colored blocks not synchro

Hi, I have a NEC LCD1980SX, most of the time it displays blocks of all colors (like no syncho) and sometimes the normal image displays correctly. I was thinking about the cable but since the internal menu is not displayed correctly neighter, I think the problem is somewhere else. Does anyone already experiment that kind of problem. I'm used to repair TV set but LCD screen I'm not sure I can work on that except on the power part. Advice ? Thx Phils

Have tried NEC technical Support? This looks like a circuit boatd problem

  • Anonymous Jun 04, 2007

If the cable is OK- no bent pins - and the power supply- then it must a component failure
I cant advise more than a Tech support site
Tell you what- if NEC do not respond try another maker any other maker- do several- simply explain the symptoms of the LCD screen - don't tell then the make- they are pretty well all the same except for the name plate anyway.

I CAN'T READ THE BLUE TEXT IN MY E MAILS

If Blue colors display properly in pictures or graphics check the display and size settings of your computer in relation to the size monitor.

If there is a problem with the blue color because of a problem with the monitor you might be able to compensate for it either with controls on the monitor or with the control software of your video card.

NEC LT35 color problem

If you're trying to project video, then the unit needs professional service. If you're trying to project from a computer, you may have a loose display cable, broken pins in one or both ends of the display cable, or broken conductors (wires) within the display cable. The computer sends its image information as a template of RED image components, GREEN image components and BLUE image components with the projector overlays to create the complete image with blended color values. (The computer also sends HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL synchronization signals, but those don'e affect the color content of the projected image.) That's why I'm suspicious of the display cable, conductors or pins.
