These made in China MP4 players are quite budget ... however,I've managed to get mine working just fine. Just follow these steps:

1.Charge the unit. (These things come with a dead power supply, soyou'llhave to to charge it with the provided USB cable... or any cable such asone that works with a camera. you'll not be able to load it orturn iton until this has been done. 3 hours later your computer willdetect newhardware (USB mass storage device) and install the appropriate drivers.

2. Loading MP3's... there are 2 ways to go about this...

a) If you have the latest Windows media player click on the SYNC tab and follow the directions.

b)Open "My Computer" you should be able to see a new drive (probably E: F:or G:) double click to expand it, you should see a bunch of folders, simply drag and drop your MP3s to the Music folder.

3.Converting and Loading Video: The included program that comes withthesecheap-*** players is a bag of $#@! so dont even bother with it.

The best program to convert videos to work on this thing can be found HERE

-Pick the first one (note:this file is zipped so will need to extract it),
pick up a trial version of WinRar HERE

-Once extracted, go ahead and run the program...click ADD

Choose your input file, and output path,

Youwill need to know the resolution of your screen. Under Playertype, choose SUNPLUS AVI and select the video resolution of your Missil, 30frames/sec and the best sound/video quality and hit start.

- this process takes a while (30-60 min) depending on file size.

- Once complete, simply drag and drop (cut and paste) the converted file to to the VIDEO folder on the players drive.

3.Finally disconnect the player from the computer, it will say"pleasewait.. building playlist" once this is done you're good to go

I hope this has been helpful... and please... dont forget to rate this solution.

It sync's just fine with windows media player and for the price of this thing it works great. While the music is playing hit the menu button, the >> & << will guide you up and down on the menu of options. IE : repeat, eq, ect. Once on an option you hit the menu again and the sub menu for that option will come up. For the poster that wants the eq settings, it will be there. For the poster that cant get off of intro, it is in the repeat menu. For volume you hit the volume button while the song is playing and while the " vol " icon is flashing at the bottom of the screen use the << >> for up and down. So example of the menu settings to get it off of intro play =
Song playing - menu, with repeat highlighted hit menu, the sub menu will be there and normal will be highlighted hit the >II ( play button) and normal will be now used and the intro play will be gone. Same goes for all the settings. As I said, it syncs just perfect with win media player.

Okay.

From after an hour of futzing around with one of these little things, here's the rundown:

You'll need Windows XP for the CD - which may/may not be useful - haven't got the USB drives on my old reformatted lappy on yet.

For Vista:
1) When you first pop the USB cable into the comp, it'll load some divers automatically - when this is done, unplug the mp3 player and plug it back in again.

2) Go to Computer, then right click the "Removable Disc" (be sure it's your player and not another storage device you may be using!) and FORMAT IT. (FAT32 is what I used... seemed to work)

3) After that, copying files over to it works with vista.

Also, changing the equalizer/etc. is possible just use the menu on the music playing screen and left/right to change options - using play to select your option. It seems to be RANDOM which menu you get though... I can't figure it out. "short press" in the manual... random in practice. It'll give you either the repeat/equalizer/etc. menu or the directories menu ... and careful in the 2nd one, it seems like it'd be easy to delete everything.

I can't figure out how to switch between music modes: Rock, Pop, classic etc. But here is how you put your music onto it:
Make sure your MP3 player is connected to your computer, turned on and that it shows up in the "My Computer" screen. Make note of the drive letter it shows up as, let's say it shows up as K: for our purposes.
Then go to your folder with the songs you want to load onto your MP3 player, highlight the songs you want, right click and select send to in the drop down menu, then select K; (or whatever drive letter your MP3 player is) That's it.
Another easy way to do it is to just drag and drop the songs into the drive that your MP3 player shows up as.
Hope that helps.

Missil A940LCD2PK mp3 player turning off

I don't know if mine is a Missil brand, but the pix of the Missil A940LCD2PK look exactly like my no-name Chinese MP3 clip-on player. I am experiencing exactly the same problem. My firmware is 2208/06/12 V1.05. Everything else works as it should except, of course, music mode. The directory has "root" and a single "voice" folder for voice recordings. Is music mode looking for a folder? Is there some way to correct or upgrade firmware?

Replacing it is expensive. However the player is bound to have some sort of usb port on it. You can buy some usb headphones for about £15 and use those.
