You may need to reset your device and you will see a reset button at back of your router so all you need is to keep holding it for 10 seconds then unplug the power jack for like 1 min and then your device shall be reset. But please make sure to backup your all settings first.

SOURCE: System shuts down after surfing the internet

Regarding the error code, all you need to do is update your driver. You can do this by downloading the most up to date driver from motorola here.

Unfortunately, it seems like this might be two seperate issues.

Sometimes machines, especially laptops but it will happen to desktops as well, will shutdown when they are overheated in an attempt to prevent damage to the physical hardware. Judging by the "after about 15 minutes" comment, I think this might have something to do with it as that 15 minute window would give a non-functioning fan or unventilated laptop enough time to overheat your machine.

If the driver update does not stop the random rebooting and you do not think the machine is hot when it reboots, do this:

right-click My Computer and choose Properties; click the Advanced tab. In Vista, click the Start button, type System, Properties, Advanced, and press Enter. Click Continue if prompted by User Account Control.

In all versions, click the Settings button under 'Startup and Recovery'. Uncheck the Automatically restart box, and click OK twice. The next time the problem occurs, instead of rebooting you will likely see a text screen reporting a system error. Report back with what error it gives you.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Dear forum-freinds,

Hi,
If you say the lights are going out on the modem when it boots you off the network then the problem is your modem and not your internet connection, if the modem is new take it back and have them swap it for another one.

Regards.

That's got nothing to do with windows 7. You have a problem with that modem. Oh & if you're trying to use windows 7 on a dial-up connection,it's not going to work well. Microsoft pretty much stopped any support for dial-up on the newer operating systems. So if this is your situation,I'd downgrade to xp, vista won't do well either. Now if the modem you refer to is a dsl or cable modem, try "power cycling" it by unplugging it for 30 seconds & plugging it back in. Do this with the pc off until the lights on the modem are normal again. Then plug the pc back in & see if it's ok. If not, call your ISP & talk to tech support. It'll be on thier end.

System runs from about 3 to 15 secs then shuts down. That doesn't give me enough time to do anything in the BIOS setup when pressing F2. Then the system refuses to start (by pressing the power button)...

Just to make sure thatnothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, videocard, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables toCD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged. The computer should stay on even without an operating system or hard drive installed.

I am so confused. I followed all the instructions to the very end and when i get to the end I'm stuck. I don't know what I did wrong. I go to the website 192.168.1.1 and go to the status tab and it says...

try this
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer.
Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port.
Disconnect any USB connection to the modem, it will not be used.
Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.
Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light.
Turn on the router, wait for two minutes.
Boot the computer.

also try pluggin it in wired. as well. make sure your router is set to obtain ip automatically

How can I know the unlocking code of my Hauwei HSDPA E156G USB Modem, the modem firmware upgrade flash code so that I CAN UNLOCK THE Modem so that I can use it in any GSM network for internet browsing?

15 Euros to unlock. Download dc-unlocker and run it to see if your dongle is in fact locked. If so buy your credits to unlock. If you go to You Tube and search for "huawei dc unlock" then ther's a 4 minute clip illustrating how its done.

DI 514 Wireless Router Problem

Okvassiw - Don't rate this til it's fixed please. Can I assume you reset the configuration on your router from defaults to your settings? First , unplug your modem and your router. Leave unplugged for a minute. Then plug in the modem. After 30 seconds plug in the router. Give it 15 seconds and try it. Let me know what happens and I'll tell you how to proceed. Thanks.
