If the mic of the phone is no longer working, then it means the phone might have fallen hard or hit a hard object or fallen in water and have disconnected the mic from the main board hereby causing the mic not to work again.
The solution is to get the phone disassembled and remove the mic there and replace it with a new mic.
Before doing so, you can use an external earpiece for the main time, that allows easy access to calling out and receiving easily. Or you can use a bluetooth handsfree on the phone before you go for the mic replacement.
Be sure to have a professional replace the mic for you because replacing it could be very sensitive.
Check the volume control of the phone also, to be sure that the volume is no too low or turned off, hereby causing your other recipients not to hear you.
The MIC alone can be changed in your phone... you will find a small MIC attached to the middle panel in your phone. You can buy a replacement for this and you can change it...
the fault is probably coming from the board and might need replacement so as to enable the mic work properly. you can take it to a repairer to fix or change the board. on the other hand, it could be that the new mic was also faulty. the best thing to do is to take both your phone and the mic to a qualified repairer and see if he helps. hope this helped you? please rate
Hi - either the cable is not ALL the way in the connector ( double check) or the cabels damaged after install ( common) you need to repalce the entire screen on a ds lite as the cable is not detachable.
as for the mic - you will need some PCB rework on the motherboard to rectify that I'm afraid, contact us at www.dsdoctor.co.uk if you need any more help :-)
check the battery, if dead replace new. check the switch might be a cold solder or loose wire and finally check the condenser mic by placing a multitester to the two connectors of the mic with one wire from the mic desoldered. if there's a continuity, then its good. if there's no continuity the mic condenser is busted. go to radioshack and find replacement mic condenser.
