It almost sounds like you have a loose connection at the battery. If the connection is loose it can cause the starter to click as you have described. Also it could be the starter itself. If the starter is bad (locked up) it can make the clicking noise and not start the engine. If you can get to the starter, try to tap on it with a hammer while someone is trying to start the engine. I hope this helps.

92 Lincoln town car won't start, I replaced the starter, alternator, key ignition cylinder, ignition switch, battery and all I get when turning the key is one click and that's it.

Is this a loud click or a quiet click? Is it a single click or lots of fast repeating clicks? A quiet single click is most likely the starter relay in the fuse box failing. A louder single click is related to the starter motor, the starter solenoid or related parts. A repeating, rapid clicking is usually a power supply issue. Is there any warning lights on the dashboard? Were you having any other issues before this happened?
Try going back to basics. You may have already tried some of these.
Check the battery is the correct one for your vehicle and is fully charged. A V8 engine takes a lot of effort to physically turn over and a weak or wrong battery will struggle to turn the engine over. Check all the connections on the battery are clean and secure. Check the other end of each battery cable is also clean and secure. A bad electrical connection can drain the battery so it doesn't have enough power for the starter.
Apply the park brake and put the vehicle in Neutral. Try starting the vehicle. This disconnects the transmission making it easier for the engine to turn over. Does that make any difference? Comment below with more information and I'll try to help you more.

Why does my 2001 Pontiac Aztek crank but not start?

If you have a security light on your vehicle will not crank over !
The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system functions are provided by the theft deterrent control module. The VTD system prevents vehicle operation if a valid (learned) transponder PASS-Key?®III (PK3) ignition key is not used to start the vehicle. The theft deterrent control module has an exciter that is part of the theft deterrent control module as an assembly. The PK3 key has a transponder embedded in the plastic head of the key. The exciter is an antenna which is made up of wire coils which surround the ignition lock cylinder. The PCM enables the engines starter and fuel delivery system when it receives a valid (learned) password from the theft deterrent control module via the class 2 serial data circuit.
You need to take it to the dealer !

Won't start. key works in aux position but not when turned all the way

If you have power in aux position(ex.)radio works but doesn't when you put the key in the start position, the ignition switch is bad,the contacts are warn out for starting/cranking&run positions, these are used everytime you start your car,but auxillary is ony used once in awhile(ex.)your sitting listening to music while waiting for someone to come, but if you do have radio in the run position, but no cranking/starting you could have a blown resistor on fire wall or fuse for ignition,or the starter has called it quits, good luck I don't know if the starter is clicking rapid or just one click or just no power not cranking or cranking a better description of everything that happens will make this alot easier

When i turn my key all i hear is a click is that my starter?

A single click is the solenoid on the starter engaging. This is a pretty typical symptom of a bad starter if everything else seems normal.

Rapid repeated clicking while the key is in the crank position is a good sign the battery is to weak to turn the engine over.

Back to the single click. Try turning the key to the crank position rapidly and repeatedly. Sometimes this will make the starter work wich will also confirm that it is bad.

When I turn the key I get a rapide clicking sound

Check your ground wire for battery where it connects to your frame.

Also check/clean the connections where the positive wire goes to the starter solenoid. Any connection you run into from the battery, clean them off with a wire brush or sandpaper.

Starter Solenoid can also be failing/dead, these can be tested for free at most auto part stores if you remove them from the vehicle.
