It's pretty clear that the problem is being caused by the TV's receiver, not the remote. In some sets, the receiver is on a separate small board with the IR detector and its immediate circuitry. If you can access that board (after leaving the set unplugged for at least a couple of hours), it will have an assembly part number and you might try ordering that from JVC although support for CRT sets is on the decline. Removing the rear housing isn't tough; there are perhaps a half-dozen (Phillips) screws to remove around the edge and possibly another one or two toward the center of the input panel.

I have just bought a 40 inch HD LCD TV, I want to purchase a combo VCR/DVD HD to be able to record channel 11(the new free to air channels HD). Big W gave the model No. RC 689 D to me but they were not...

The VCR/DVD combo that you purchased will be able to record what you wish to a VHS tape at low quality or to a DVD at a higher quality.

  1. Coax cable (round and screw on) from the antenna to VCR/DVD
  2. Coax/AV/HDMI cable (only need 1) from the VCR/DVD player to TV
  3. TV on and turned to the input matching the cable you used in step 2
  4. Turn on VCR/DVD and use the remote control included with this unit. Not the TV's
  5. Turn it to the channel 11 on the VCR/DVD
  6. Put in a VHS tape or DVD-R to record onto
  7. You will be able to hit record whenever the show comes on or used timed recording in the menu to schedule it ahead of time

JVC AV-32230 TV

Although I've had some success soldering a few of those lugs back into place, it will be more dependable to replace it with a new part. The TV says, "no user serviceable parts inside". A technician would be your best bet. He should give you an estimate in advance.

Can not turn on tv.

Just press the buttons on the TV randomly, sometimes this combination works in starting the TV w/o a remote. After that use the remote for the dish to flip channels, but you will have to set the sound manually from time to time.......sodeep

My jvc av 32230 has no chanells only blue screen

what you need to do is go into the menu and select the channel program, so the tv will find any channels that are coming through the cable line. so make sure the input is set to cable and tv.
