Is your washer a GE Profile Harmony? Do you want to know how to take the top off or the top of the agitor (pulsator)? The top of the washer has four screws in the back top behind the screen once you unscrew them the front of the washer has two clips one on each side and you have to kinda tap it with your palm to get them to pop.

It is most likely your drive belt. Remove the front by inserting a small screwdriver between the top and front covers. There are two clips that hold the front on. You will find them close to the edges of the top of the front cover. Once you get this removed check the belt below the motor and see if it is broken or off the pully.

Maytag front load washer Neptune MAH5500B codes FL and DO

There is an emergency access cord provided for the manual unlocking of the washer door and can be accessed by removing the dispenser bezel. Open the dispenser cover and remove the four screws securing the dispenser bezel to the top cover then lift the bezel off. Once the bezel is removed, look for the nylon cord near the door lock assembly through the opening left by the dispenser bezel. Pull the cord away from the door lock assembly to pivot the mechanical opener and push the locking lever into the open position. Open and close the door several times then start a new cycle.

Check the door lock assembly if the problem persists and replace it when necessary. Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Access to the door lock assembly requires the removal of the front panel, dispenser bezel, and lifting of the top cover.

Open the dispenser cover and remove the four screws securing the dispenser bezel to the top cover then lift the bezel off.

Open the washer door and remove the two screws securing the door hinge and the front panel to the front shroud assembly. Do the same to the two screws on the opposite side of the door opening.

Disengage the front panel posts from the clips located on the face of the cabinet by grasping the upper part of the front panel posts and pressing in on the outer edges then twisting it inward. Once the front panel posts are released from the cabinet, tilt the front panel away from the cabinet and remove it.

Remove the two 5/16" hex-head screws securing the two top cover hold down brackets; one on each side. Swing the brackets to the outside to unhook it from the lip of the top cover then lift the top cover to expose the door lock assembly. Prop up the top cover to prevent it from falling back into position while accessing the door lock assembly.

Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the door lock assembly and the two mounting screws then rock the top of the assembly forward and lift it off the front shroud assembly.

Clean the wiring terminals and the connectors then reseat the connectors several times. Replace the door lock assembly when the problem is not resolved.

Install the new door lock assembly in reverse of the steps given above. Review the steps thoroughly for easy reassembly of the washer. Make sure the wiring harnesses are properly and firmly seated to the door lock assembly terminals. The door lock assembly is part number 22004435.

When it spins it is all over the place

If this is the top load washer the problem is the drum supports. Insert a 1/2 inch paint scraper between the front panel and the top about one inch from the corner releasing the spring loaded clip holding the front panel. Tilt the front panel forward and remove. Remove the screws holding the clips that hold the top in place. Lift the top and undo the wire harness for the lid switch assembly. Remove the top and locate the four rubber supports at each corner the machine holding the main tub assembly to the corners of the washer cabinet. Replace the supports that are broken and reassemble the washer.

There should be 2 screws holding it on at the rear. Looking from the rear these will be at each top corner. Once these are removed push the lid from the front of the machine towards the rear and it will pop off.
