PAUSED PRINTER HI HAVE PROBLEM WITH MY HP DESKJET 5600 PRINTER, IT IS IN PAUSED STATUS AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF IT , I CANT USE MY PRINTER CAN U HELP THAX

I had this problem. My HP F380 also stopped accepting professionally filled cartridges too. The only solution was to start buying HP cartridges. Thankfully these are much cheaper on eBay than buying at the RRP in shops or elsewhere online.

If it used to work, then try unplugging and reconnecting the AC power cable for USB scanners. No guarantees at all, but it may work. Unplugging and reconnecting the Firewire cable in XP also sometimes works. Give it a few seconds to be detected.

1. choose Start
2. Choose Printers and Faxes
Your printer should be in this list. if the printer shwoing as Paused, you can choose Resume Printing or if status is showing Offline(Right-click on the printer icon)
3. Right-click on the printer icon.
4. Choose Use Printer Online.

Thanks for using FIxYa. Please turn the printer off and then cancel all the print queues pending in the bottom toolbar by double clicking on the printer logo if you want to delete all the pending printing files. Now turn the printer on. If you do not want to cancel all the printing jobs then you can double click on the printer logo showing in the right side of the bottom tool bar and then right click on the printing jobs pending for printings then click on restart printing. Issue will be resolved and it will not show ‘paused status’.

If you double click on the print que, look at the status heading...what does it say? If it says printing and then windows gives you a "this document failed to print", then you probably have a driver issue. Delete the printer and re-install. If it says paused then right click on the job and clickon resume. You might also want to check in the printers and faxes folder, right click on the driver for the printer, see if an option is there that says resume printing, click it if it does. Also right click on driver and select properties, under the ports tab see if the correct port is selected. Best I can do without knowing more detail.

i think the problem is that the printer could not initialized the printer head position. you can open the cover and turn on the printer. check if the motor for feeding paper moves but the roller does not. replace the gear attached to the roller. i hope this will help.
