Keeps turning off

I turn on the heater for less than a minute and it shuts off on its own. At first it would turn off completely and now it is just turning off and not heating the room. We cleaned the filter so that is not the problem. Every minute to five minutes we have to get up to turn it back on.

I have a raypak 156 above ground heater. Is it OK to turn off the pump while heater is running? I want to only run the pump overnight using a timer. Is this a common practice?

Heater cool down is very important and needs to be done. A time clock with a firemen switch is how it is normally done. Never run a heater with out water flowing thru it.

My 2008 kenmore front load dryer will start but after less than a minute it shuts off. what is causing this?

Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective or has a short if its grounding out? Which in turns causes blown fuses or thermostats or overheating.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Sunbeam heater SQH310 keeps shutting off when it is on 2, what do I do?

If you have the same heater i do then in between the elements at the bottom there is a safety swith that bends when it heats up and breaks the connection Dont mess with it plugged in it will shock the hell out of you but if you bend it down it wont be able to lift off the circut and will stay running untill you turn it off

The heater comes on for a few seconds then shuts off but once or twice a week it comes on and operates like a normal heater

Mine does the same thing. I have a gas heater. It will fire up- run for less then a minute then shut off. then 2 minutes later does the same thing. I'm thinking of going with a differeny brand because this is using a lot of gas evertime it fires up just for a minute. if I turn it up it stays on till it reaches the temp then does that on off thing again. i think it is just the so called "feature" Honeywell is claiming to maintain the temp in our home, not realizing it is wasting your gas or electricity.

My reddy heater works great for a minute or less than just turns off. i leave it plugged in thinking it will turn back on but it never hapens

It's not seeing a flame. The sensor that "sees" the light from the fire is probably not working and thus shutting it off thinking it's not firing.

Heater keeps turning on & off but no heat

What type of heater are we talking about? if its the home furnance, it sounds like the ignitor is coming on and shutting back down, the heat comes on ignite and the blower comes on like normal, then after a few minutes it will shut down, you will have to remove the ignitor, clean it with a little piece of sand paper to remove the carbon build-up, replace the ignitor and turn the furnance back on, this should correct the problem.

I have a lasko tower ceramic heater that keeps shutting down.

mine does the same thing every year. I just clean out the dust from the vents on the back of the heater so the heater can breath otherwise it could get too hot and the safety fetcher kick in and makes the heater stop working.
