SOURCE: Philips CDR796 CD Recorder

You power off then power back on while holding down the fast forward and rewind buttons on the recording side simultaneously. The display moves through a sequence of numbers and the trays will then open.

Hi, I have a Philips CDR 765 CD Recorder Player. I have been using special disks RAA 80M-51036 80DA and am running out. Where do I get new disks? Peter P. Fuchs

Yours is the only context Google can find for that disk type. What's so special about them?

The recorder will work with any disc on which "the text 'DIGITAL AUDIO' is present!"

Look on eBay. That's where I get mine in bulk. Stick with brand names.

I have connected my phillips cdr785 recorder the proper way to record from an external source and I get the message "start source" on the cdr side when trying to record. And it never starts...

If you're recording an analog source the recorder won't automatically start. You have to start it in sync with the playback.

If you're trying a synchronized digital recording...

Page 28 of the manual says

Start playback on the selected source.

The CD recorder starts to record simultaneously and recording in progress is shown. The remaining recording time left of the CDR(W) is displayed.

Note: If you start playback on the selected source within a track, recording starts at the beginning of the next track or after 2.7 seconds of silence in analogue recordings.

Go to http://www.manualnguide.com/download/manual-guide/teac-cd-rw880-cd-recorder-owners-manual.html and download the manual. You need a PDF reader

Disc indicates "disc full" after only a couple minutes of recordi

Brand of disk or bad laser alignment can cause this. if you have changed brands of disks go back to the others and if you have not then laser alignment is the most likely cause and can be fixed by a certified technician in this field.

Hey

The functions are the same as the cdr870/880 philips unit - google for that and you should be able to work it out from that manual.
