Hello, maybe you're missing a vital codec....so google "codec download" and find a site from which you can download a full suite of codecs (no charge) and it may fix your problem.Else, what media player are you using? try opening it with windows media player. (You'll prob. still need codec download)
Does the home music system have the capability to play MP3? If it does not then its simply reading a "silent audio file", therefore you will get no sound from it. To me it does not seem to have the MP3 capability.
go to control panel-sound-default audio device & check which device is enabled as default device. In case of HD audio remove the speaker jack & reinsert, if that port is selected as default audio then you should get an immediate message saying 'audio jack plugged in'.
the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)
you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?
If you have an amplifier hooked up make sure that the correct blue wire on the harness is connected. One of the wires is the remote amp turn-on, the other is for a power antenna. That would be why your radio plays through your speakers, the power antenna wire' when the source is set to radio, sends a 12 volt signal. That would turn on your amp if thats the way that its hooked up.
the wireing off the brain is connected wrong, ok look at the wires and now disconnect your remote wire from the amp remote now connect the second blue wire to the remote wire going to the amp, now your sound should be right
