because flex ribbon have a hundreds of wire, you can't join them through adhesive or tape.

hi there your problem is the ribbon cable i guess thats why your slider getting stuck, thats also why only 456 number shown when your press key pad, due to stuck ribbon cable (they call it flex) on the slider the flex connector have loose or have been cut the ribbon. you should bring it to a service center to change it. thanks

Hmmm. You have picked a hard one. If you mean the flex cable that is ultrasonically welded to the glass LCD screen, you will be out of luck.
Best to call Samsung service centers to see if you can round up a broken screen.

The flex cable is the weak link in all Flip style phons, so yes replace the ribbon/flex cable and most likely it will cure the problem.

There is no sure way to know if the problem is the cable without taking apart the phone, and testing or replaceiong parts.
How ever, if your screen goes blank when you touch the cable, then the problem is either the ribbon cable, or the screen itself that has a broken connector, or in rare cases the connetor on the small board.

Check first if the cable is not just misplaced in the connector, and eventually adjust it.

Replace the cable, that cost a couple of dollars. If you still get the problem replace the LCD display.

i would get a new flex ribbon
