Me too. I used to have a 5th gen. Ipod and it worked great. I then upgraded to a 6th Gen. Ipod but now i am unable to get video/photos from my Ipod to my VM9312. I am doing everything I did with my old Ipod but it just wont work. However the sound is no problem, the unit picks up on the sound. Me too. I used to have a 5th gen. Ipod and it worked great. I have the Jensen head unit. I found out a while ago that the 6th Gen Ipod Classic does not send video through the multi-pin connection. Only out of the headphone/A/V out. This is the reason it does not work via the JLink cable into the Jensen VM9312
In the manual, "To transmit the video from your ipod to the screen, you must set the following options through the ipod video settings menu: tv out = on, tv signal = NTSC, and widescreen = on. Hope that helps

That is due to the parking brake sensor on most DVD players. Since it is higly illegal to play DVDs while driving, as it provides a distraction to the driver, it is frowned upon. However, you can simply ground the parking brake sensor wire, and that should fix the issue of it not playing when driving. Please remember that it is most likely illegal, though.
where did you get the vids from. it sounds like the codec used for the vid is not ipod compatable. you may be able to convert them using free software like anyvideo converter or ipod robot. i tunes can play them because it has a greater library of video codecs (anything installed on the system... almost)
This unit does not have iPod video capabilities only audio, If you want to view video from your iPod you can get a universal cable that would charge it and also give you a audio and video output, this cable needs to be powered and grounded and hooked up to one of the radio audio video inputs. This link will take you to it.

This will never work, the new ipods will only work with apple products. I've had numerous headaches with this and after many phonecalls to manufacturers I discovered that the new ipods will only play video if they see an apple authentication chip embedded inside the video cable. Sorry.
The new ipod will not work with anything other than 2008 alpine products. Apple embedded a chip in the actual cable that tells the ipod that it's ok to pay. What you need is an authentic apple video cable that can only be purchased at the apple store...then hook the inputs up to the video input on the radio.
You might need the jenson media module, that might have came with it.Mine did and I bought it 2nd hand.and a special ipod cable that hooks from the media module to your ipod.
