To block Facebook

The source of my caller ID not displaying was a faulty ADSL filter.
For some reason my ADSL filter blocked the caller id information - but worked fine otherwise.
When I changed the filter the caller ID worked fine again.

Go to A dva n c e d tab -> Filters then enter "facebook.com" in a "Website Blocking by URL Address" field. You can enter up to four URL addresses.You can aslo try the "Website Blocking by Keyword" field and just "facebook" there and see if that blocks facebook.

Do you know if Facebook is not blocked by your ISP [Internet Service Provider] ?
Please make sure about connectivity to Facebook by using any proxy website such as www.poro6.com and enter the URL of Facebook as www.facebook.com into the blank form and Press GO
if the facebook page had opened, you should to call the coustmer service of your internet service provider and request that issue. Everything will be fixed

for this you had to download any url blocking software.
Some internet security like avira also provide this facility.

Not a problem. There are hundreds of proxy sites through which you can connect to Facebook. Depending on the type of block the company are using,eg, wild card-resulting in the word facebook anywhere in your url,blocking conection. So basicly what you the want is encrypted url.

Try some of the below wesites. All you do is enter the below urls into your browser and on the site that opens,enter www.facebook.com. This will encrypt this url and you can surf facebook freely.

i don think there will be url filtering options on ur modem/router.
u can download sunbelt firewall to ur pc(Linux Platform)
using this u can block the url's u wish.

If u need to block the websites on the whole for total network, then u need to place a firewall appliance on the edge of the network after your modem/router

i don know about the url filtering options in this router. u can try sunbelt firewall . this firewall has url filtering options.

Try visiting facebook through proxy server. U can find the list of free proxy server at http://www.proxy4free.com/ Just click any free proxy server, when the page opens up, there will be a space to enter the url, u can enter any url and visit any sites, without the knowledge of anyone.

There are 2 ways.
Normally in an office environment all web traffic is intercepted and forced through a proxy, where these rules can be applied.
The one way is assuming your company does not block all ports on a firewall is to use a proxy subscription service. You simple enter the proxy details of your service, in your browser and you are surfing.
If they do have a firewall, your choices are more limited. You can subscribe to a VPN service, and connect to the VPN and surf through that link, or you can use say your mobile phone as a modem on your computer and surf through 3G / EDGE / GPRS
The last option is what is called an anonymizer. You surf to a website, enter the new URL on that website, and you surf to the destination URL inside the other website. (see http://www.anonymizer.com/ )
Not that I condone you breaking company rules, as they probably have a reason for blocking it, but this is the methods you can use.
