you can go on the website of the manufacturer and search for the manual, and usually you will have to download the manual to your computer. I can't help with the manual, but those old phones usually had a lever that poked out the back that worked as a ringer switch. If not, the mechanics are simple. Just open up the phone and snip the wires to the bell, or remove the bell itself.

I need to find owner's manual for Southwestern
Dear Sir,

By typing "Southwestern Bell Freedom Phone Manual" in Google, the first description on top of the page I clicked on showed me a variety of catagories of phones to choose from. I clicked on the corded phone catagory and I chose FC2548 which was the closest to my model FC2570. I downloaded a pdf of the owner's manual which solved my problem of saving numbers to memory and
other functions.
