Good question. I don't think it has anything to do with the phone per se. I know that Verizon provides a way to block numbers on their residential land-line service. Contact your cell provider to see if they have that service.

You can remove the Network block from your phone unlock code.You can get the unlock code for your Nokia N8 phone from your Network service provider or any third party online vendors like Unlock-Zone.com here you need to specify your country,Network name to which it is locked,IMEI number of your phone.Then they deliver unlock code to you through mail with unlocking instructions.Using this you can unlock your phone from network block easily.

you can block the calls by installing software in ur phone. you wil get the software from nokia ovi store.you cannot block messages

IF YOUR PHONE IS BLOCKED CONTACT NOKIA CARE.... IF SIM IS BLOCKED CONTACT NETWORK PROVIDER.

nokia phones are not made to block specific phone numbers. special applications must be installed or be downloaded to have this made but i doubt it. nokia only has the call barring feature that bars ALL calls and incoming text messages.

Ring your service provider if it was locked to them, give them the IMEI and your details they will block your Nokia phone.

The person that stole your phone will find that your phone has been barred and basically as useful as a rock.

If they try to unlock the phone at mobile phone repair shops they will be refused as the IMEI will be registered globally as stolen.'

If your phone wasn't locked to your service provider, there isn't any way to block the phone now.

Contact your Service provider for a PUK code  (Personal unlocking Key). 

Connect your phone to your Computer and backup all your memos and personal information by selecting "Backup" in Nokia PC Suite. After that download the Nokia Software Updater from Nokia's website: http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_it.exe
Use the Nokia Software Updater to update/reinstall your phone's software. Your phone will start working now.
