By SSD I assume you are refering to a Solid State Drive to replace your existing hard drive. If this is the case you need to install the drive and then boot off the CD that came with your computer and reinstall the operating system. Note that all you old info will still be on the original hard drive but you can still access it by purchasing a 2.5 inch USB hard drive enclosure. When you plug it into a USB port it will be detected as a second hard drive.

When you set up a new SSD you should create a WPA or WEP password for access to it.

You start the Asus minibook. You should get an icon for Wireless Networks on the home page.

Select it. Your new SSD should be detected. You click to Connect. You will be prompted for a WPA or WEP password. Select one or the other and enter the password. Then you should be able to connect.

Hi I'm not sure I understood your original problem. What did you mean by SSD? Is it a new system disk? What is wrong with the hard drive of the PC? Could you give me more detail on this.

I have a hp stream locked up and I can't get reset. I need a disc and I don't have one, do I have any other options?

what does locked up mean?
be more clear please.
on modern HP PC, the F11 key works, as stated in the service manual, of your unstated PC, (lots of streams there are)
but you power on, hammer the f11 key and bingo recovery mode.
(hint if the HDD drive is bad , this fails)
this erases all data and apps you loaded since new and goes back to ,day one 1 state.
if locked up means lost password, then tell what it was lost.
BIOS?
or W10 , local or live.com?

if f11 is dead and the hdd is bad (or ssd) then you need a new hdd or ssd and a new OS.
if you dont have the HP disks , ask HP for them we are not HP at all.

ask here.
tell them the full PC model number
and the tell what it does good or bad. (the story unstated)

My hp laptop originally had Xp pro and the.drive was erased .i try to install a factory Xp pro disk and it wont detect a hard drive , thats where my new install stops with that problem page

redux, (shorter but inputs are weak)
no computer stated,(hopeless for sure0
no disk stated only the word ?FACTORY?means what?

the Micro Soft dics is 4 different releases 2001 to 2008, sp1,sp2, and sp3 too.
the HP disc is from ,HP.com

the first MS XP disc will not see SATA drives
it lacks the driver ,.
The HP disc works because they put it there.
not some randome accident HP disc ,supports
only you unstated HP laptop
The newer MS XP disc,SP3 might work, you tell me.
why load and obsolete OS, a virus magnet .
with the wrong disc, MS
hit F6 key, and load the correct SATA driver now.
we did that for years. (but it needs a stinking floppy disk, ouch)

Hi there, My Eee 4g pc 8.9 with Linux does not start up anymore. The power is there but the screen just flashes with odd graphics after "starting system" appears on the screen. I can not enter...

The BIOS are separate from the operating system. After a control/alt/delete you should be able to get a new fresh start up whereby hitting the Del key or F Keys above (10 or 12 usually) you should get to the BIOS Setup pages. If need to make changes to the computer, do so there. If you cannot bring up the Operating System, you may be required to put the OS Disk into the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer hoping the CD drive is recognized and go from there. If Linux fails, you will need Windows 10 operating system.

When booting my Eee PC, no storage drive can be detected, including the Mini SSD onboard. The booting stopped at asking me to insert a bootable hard drive. So, I tried to use an external DVD ROM to...

It does sound like there's a major problem with the Solid State Drive. When you boot the system, press F1 or F2 (or what is shown) to get into the setup. When in, do you see the drive in question showing on any of the screens?
You may need to open the system up and reseat the SSD.
If reseating it doesn't help, you may be eligible for a replacement SSD from it's manufacturer. Many Solid State devices have a lifetime warranty.

I hope this helps. Post a reply if it doesn't or if you need further help.
