Had 1gb ddr2 667mh pc5300 already in pc and added a 2gb ddr 800mh pc2-640 to it. Which the computer shop said would be fine. Now I am only getting a bleeping noise when started. Tried removing the 1gb and replacing it with the 2gb, but still the same outcome. Any help appreciated.
Hello you can download a manual here:

Try to clean the mainboard for dust with compressed air
and let your dealer search the ram module for a defect.
The spec. for the ram is this:
Number of Memory Slots2 240pinMemory StandardDDR2 800Maximum Memory Supported16GBChannel SupportedDual Channel
You have maybe not insertet the ram correctly.
Good luck

I dont believe its a dust issue as the original 1gb ram works ok in the same slot as i tried the 2gb one. the ram has a notch in it so it can only go one way. I have taken it back with and the shop no says its not compatible with the board. Thanks for your coment
have tried putting in a 1gb ddr2 with exact specs as the 1gb already installed. Still only getting a beeping sound. Have removed original ddr2 and put new one in slot but same result. Old ddr2 works in any slot but nothing from new ddr2. Is it possible its a bad ddr2?
Yes a ram module can have a defect. Maybe one of the ram slots is defect. how many beebs comes when you start up ?? Maybe he has sold you a wrong type of ram. Bring one of the old ram and let him look at it. I am 100% sure its a ramfailure
The new ram is identical to the old one. The old ram works in either slot and the beeps are one -two seconds long about every 4 seconds. Your help is appreciated
